Capello Needs to Start at Home vs. KU
I think it is time for a change, but I don't think that this weekend at UT is the time for it. I think we use one more week throwing Arnaud and Tiller out there to the wolves and then see what we have in Capello when we play KU at home in a couple of weekends.
Arnaud has been a great cyclone in his time here, but much like Brett Meyer before him, he needs to step aside now so that we can see what we have for next year. Tiller is a good athlete, but is not suited for out the offense that our OC supposedly specializes in. If the staff was convinced that he could be the starter next year, I think he would be playing a lot more right now.
KU is horrible. I think Capello starting at home for the homecoming game would be a great boost to his confidence if he comes in and plays well.

Actually the KU game is a must-win for us, so Arnaud will definitely start.

Yes... let's throw in the towel on the season and send a message to everyone that we've written off the possiblity of doing anything with our current offense
Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!!! In Accordance with Prophecy -

on homecoming!? Riiiiggghhhttt, might as well start Capello on senior day as well. I like the kid but right now we are playing excellent teams that make players look bad, KU is not one of those teams.

Bad idea. We need to win the KU game. Putting that much pressure on a QB in his first start isn't going to work out well. Arnaud will start if he comes back from Austin in one piece.

Re: Capello Needs to Start at Home vs. KU
The only game we've lost this season under Arnaud that we should've maybe won was KSU. The only way Capello gets in vs. Kansas is if we are blowing them out.

There is NO WAY that this will or should happen.
I'm just going to leave it at that.

Wow Capello sure is building up to be the next message board legend isn't he? It's quite impressive. Especially for a kid who came in as a 2 star with no other offers and has done nothing on the field to justify fans wanting him to play

People really shouldn't be taking this thread too seriously... a look at who the OP is and that's about all you need to know about this thread

Bring back negative rep.... Seriously, do you want to just lose the rest of the games this year? Would that make you feel better? AA GIVES US THE BEST CHANCE TO WIN! PERIOD! If we win against KU and CU that will give us 5 wins going into the last game against Mizzou at home. If we bench our best QB to see what we have for the future in the KU game, we end up 3-9 and we give a boost to KU and CU, two programs who may be struggling as much or more than ISU is. And guess what, if we start playing Cappello against KU, I guarantee that the stands will be almost completely empty for the MU game. It will make ISU look even worse than it already does if the coaches and fans give up on the team now. We are SUPPOSED to lose to Iowa, Utah, OU, and Texas. They are top ten caliber teams. They have had solid recruiting and the same systems in place for many years. We have no real depth at any position and once our starters get tired, we have almost no chance to beat Top 10 caliber teams unless they hand the ball to us, often. -
Re: Capello Needs to Start at Home vs. KU
Hey, remember when I said everybody loves the backup until he starts to play, at which point, everybody loves his backup? Case in point.
Unless things are looking really bad during the game, why would you want to start a guy who has hasn't thrown a single pass in a college game? As far as I know, he has three rushes to his credit. Granted, the Utah ones led to a TD, but still. He hasn't attempted or completed a single pass. How do you know he doesn't come out throwing interceptions? Right now, you're not saying you want the best player. You just want the one who hasn't screwed up as much as the others. Which is strange considering from a statistical point of view, Tiller himself hasn't really been hurting ISU with turnovers or anything.
Rather than panicking and yelling "Kick out all the starters and put in the backups", figure out if you can't use the same offense for the TTU game to win against the likes of KU or CU.

I was warned things could get out of hand on here. Remember James is not writing this stuff and if you don't know about other offers don't say so. He could habe went many other places, and for Rivals, they are a joke. We went to many camps,INVITED and they were only interested in several players who were brought to their attention. James younger brother is being heavily recruited out East here as a linebacker and I bet Rivals never heard of him. So yes James was heavily recruited but fell in love with ISU as we also did with their fans.
