Probably because they have very few viewers. If they paid us, it would be in the $50/game range.

While I appreciate the desre to max attendance. Would be nice for us out of staters to catch a victory after this three game stretch.

There are 3 reasons why turnout will be bad for this game:

1.) Assuming an obliteration by Texas, we will be coming off 3 beatdowns.

2.) Iowa-MSU is kicking at 2:30pm that day in Iowa City and that is potentially a HUGE, HUGE game as compared to our patty cake fest with KU.

3.) Beggar's night in DSM and while you should be able to get to the game and home in time, it will still keep many at home.

4.) I will throw in one more in the weather is unknown and anything is possible this time of year (hope for a beautiful, sunny day).

Homecoming will help a tad bit, but not much, but I just don't see this drawing much more than 40k tops.

1pm will still max attendance for this game as much as it can be max'd.

Which is why this could be very embarrassing. At least if the game was on FCS CPR would still be able to tell out-of-state recruits (and their families) X% of our games were nationally televised so your family and friends can follow you back home.

I really hope it works and we have 47-50k in attendance, but have the sinking feeling that this may back-fire.
