looks like it is so you can make a bd out of it instead of the normal avi. you will have to have a ps3, bd player or computer to watch it.

Re: Torrent of the Texas game

Can someone actually share the torrent file? They won't let me create an account on that site for some reason (I think it's something to do with my e-mail address). I would assume I don't need an account to use the torrent, just to get to the torrent file which should be very small. I guess unles the tracker requires an account somehow... Thoughts?

My download hasn't finished so I can't confirm, but here's what I can figure out from reading online.

It is posted in a bluray format. If you don't have a bluray burner (and really, who does?) your best bet will probably be VLC Media Player. It's available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, so you should be good there. Then go to File>Open and choose the BDMV folder and then click open. That should play the video okay.

I promise there's no malware/spyware/superAIDS packaged with VLC, it's a safe download. If you need help with the torrenting stuff, let me know.

Re: Torrent of the Texas game

sharing the torrent file (which is usually only 35k) probably won't help you as you said the tracker is TYT itself and most likely requires an account.

Also, the game is in AVCHD format and you don't need a BR burner in your pc. A regular dvd RW is fine. You will need to download Imageburn which is freeware then burn an image to a dual layer disc which can then play on your BR player or PS3.

watching it in VLC media player is ok too but you need a high speed PC.

Re: Torrent of the Texas game

I just made a avchd disc on a dl dvd with imageburn. works in my ps3 just fine. at first I tried burning a disc using poweriso because it works great on dl dvd data discs- but it would not run on the ps3.

You should read the rules when using TYT because they boot you if you dont set your upload speed on high. You do need a user account and it is somewhat complicated because you need to activate it on your email. when searching for it, I couldn't find it when I looked up "iowa state texas" but searching just for "texas" worked.

I started last night and because the swarm all plays nice, you wont miss the loss of bandwidth by setting the upload speed.

I just downloaded the game. It's full-screen on my Mac Cinema display and it is beautiful. Downloaded in a little over 3 hours. I'm still uploading for others. I'm using VLC to watch it on my computer. Easy.

Is it choppy for you? I just downloaded it, and have VLC media player, but it stops every 6 seconds or so for a 1/2 second. I wonder if I need more RAM. I have a ATI Radeon HD 4350 video card.. and 1GB RAM. Hmmmm

My Totem Movie Player doesn't seem like it wants to play it. Of course I have no idea which file to open...Looks like I will look into VLC player.
