I love how he was like "You know, some will say that Iowa stands for I Ought a Went to Ames".

Also, the whole Veishea and Vet school thing was fantastic.

i heard that too, and I didn't like it initially, but after considering it for a second, I don't think it's that bad

If this is truly his dream job, he'd have to get ISU to a BCS game before the really tempting offers started to come.

I'd say we have him for at least 1 more year

Which makes it all the more important that we write the checks to keep him and his staff here.

It definitely is worrying though. Perusing a couple boards, i think it was texags, where they want to fire sherman, that someone went 'how about paul rhoads?'

Chizik's success has to raise Rhoads's stock as well. Have to think 'if chizik can go 5-19 at isu and have the success he's had so far at auburn, what can someone who went 14-12?' (if we went 7-6 again)

So you're saying we're going to a BCS game next year? I'll take it.

Re: Love all the talk about ISU and CPR tonight

I'm more concerned on losing the coordinators. I love Rhoads as much as anyone here, but the guys that he brought in are a major reason for a lot of his success. We have a great group of assistants here and we really need to keep them around for this program to continue to grow. I think that this was the problem with Mac. He had some success and couldn't keep his coaches. Then we ended up with Barney Cotton and the rest was history.

CPR said he would make ISU a championship program, and I believe him...
Reasons I think he will stay at ISU in the long run.. (Think Kirk Ferentz)
    1. Job Security
    2. Close to home
    3. ISU can afford to give him a pretty big salary (and everything is cheaper in Iowa overall)
    4. Good people and fan support
    5. Face of the program

I caught the replay of College Football Final this morning & Lou Holtz gave A-Rob a helmet sticker in the helmet sticker segment.

Lou even said his name right

In Holtz-speak, "Alexander Robinson" rhymes with "Coach Lou is Slobberin'".

i have to agree that we dont need to worry so much about losing CPR as we do the assistants. not many assistants have any other ties to the state and isu.

Would it blow your mind if this win over Texas led to the firing of Mack Brown, Muschamp leaving, Chizik taking the Texas job and Auburn hiring Rhoads back as head coach.

I agree that we need to keep the whole staff together. As much as I love CPR, he is only as good as his staff that he has here with him. I myself feel that CPR is going to be here for along time.
