Just watched the replay. These 2 had MONSTER games and need to get some love. Tackled very well, had some BIG hits, and awesome coverage. Other than a great throw and catch with LJ in good postion in the corner of the endzone, they played fantastic!

Reeves played really well too. His interception after the tip was great. It is amazing how much difference just a little pressure on the quarterback makes.

They still need to finish tackles, there were a few plays when they didnt.

Good thread......they deserve a bunch of credit, along with pretty much everyone on the team. I agree that some of their hits set the tone for the game.

This was the first game all year when it looked like the DBs were tuned in, and at the right place, a little stick em on their gloves and they could have had another 3 picks and this game would have been a laugher.

Yeah, they need to wrap up still. Texas got some yards after contact because they were just bouncing off. For the most part, though, they were laying the wood out there, particularly Benton.

The only problem I had were all the dropped INT's. They should have had at least 6 interceptions yesterday.

They did play a good game.

One thing that these threads show me, too, is that we're doing a nice job as fans singling out all the good play this week. Seems like half the team has had threads devoted specifically to pointing out their contribution.

I think our entire defense played great. Sure there were some plays that they didn't tackle well but hey there were more that they did tackle well.

There were enough, and that's what matters

I think it's fun to have a gigantic, enormous win like this and still see that there were areas where we could play better. It takes away all of the "lucky" excuses and junk like that, and points to the fact that we lined up with Texas and took them down.

This may sound crazy but I'm glad we didn't get all those picks. Then this game would have been written off as a fluke. It wasn't a fluke it was preparing during the week, solid coaching, playing hard at all positions, and taking it to the final second.

Well, there's a reason their db's and not receivers...

Much love to the defense today - Lattimer and Maggit played lights out and it really allowed the rest of the guys behind them react and play like they're capable.

He might not be the best defender, but he is a punishing tackler. It will be interesting to see if he starts at strong safety next year.

Our defense has given up alot of points this year, but if we can continue to progress among the current d-lineman and bring in some JUCO guys to plug the middle and provide a pass rusher we could be much improved next year. The back 7 could be pretty strong with:

LB: Klein, Knott, Tau'fo'ou
Safety: Benton, JUCO?
CB: Reeves, Johnson
Nickel: Washington
