Wins against Sam Houston State, Buffalo, Rice, Kansas, Colorado, and Kansas State.
Losses to TCU and Texas Tech.
Remaining games: @Texas, @Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma.
I'd guess they win one of their remaining games, either @Texas or Texas A&M.
Talk about short-lived.
Look at U-M's schedule, which teams they have actually beaten.
I realize there's a lot of "who know's?" this season, but now I'm convinced coaches are just voting based on tradition factor.
Except for the Baylor part, of course. :twitcy:
They beat Virginia Tech, and they beat Oregon State. Virginia Tech is barely in the top 25, oregon state is currently unranked.
Auburn has beaten #23 Mississippi State, #17 South Carolina,#18\19 Arkansas, #12\13 LSU, and they will have to get through #6 Alabama if they want to get to a title game.
And if you want to talk weak schedules... lets look at the rest of boise's schedule by sagarin rankings:
Virginia Tech 31
Fresno State 63
Louisiana Tech 81
Utah State 107.
San Jose State 138
New Mexico State 180
Average ranking= 76.3
So if you want to talk weak schedules.. lets talk weak schedules. 7 games against teams ranked 70 or below. 3 outside the top 100.
Auburn, for comparison, has
South Carolina 23
Arkansas - 24
Mississippi State- 27
Mississippi - 69
Arkansas State- 133
Louisiana Monroe- 166
Average ranking- 58.
Where Boise plays 7 schools outside the top 70, Auburn plays 7 schools in the top 50.
You might be able to say they've played comparable numbers of top 30 opponents, but you certainly cannot dog Auburn for a weak nonconference schedule, when boise has 8 teams below 60.
Auburn has beat LSU, South Carolina, Arkansas, Mississippi State and Clemson. Boise being ahead of them is ridiculous
Auburn vs. Oregon in the national title game would be a fun game with those two sick offenses
That said, if one of Auburn\Oregon loses, is boise even going to get the top spot among non-bcs teams? Boise doesnt have much of anything to pull their schedule up, but TCU does have Utah, if TCU beats utah you'd have to think that'd be more than enough to push them over Boise.
