Yeah, thats right, they lost to LakesBison and NDSU. The only time they have beaten a member of the Big 12 ever! And KU didn't even score a TD. I live in Kansas, and I have yet to find a KU fan that will describe that GT game as anything but a fluke. And yes, that Baylor score is the most points and the largest magin of victory for Baylor in a Big 12 game ever. Kinda nice to not be on the wrong end of a Baylor first for a change isn't it?

And for those of you still not convinced, this is a team that went 1-7 in conference play last year. We were their only win, and had it not been for an overthrown pass they would have been 0-8. Then they lost all of their key offensive players and their coaching staff. This is a team that is 2-12 in their last 14 games! Oh, and by the way, they lost their 1st and 2nd string QB's this week. How bad off do you think we would be if we were without Arnaud and Tiller next week?

This may be the worst team we have played in conference since those KU teams that we blew out in the early 2000's. If this game is even in question in the 4th quarter, we will need to ask some serious questions about why this coaching staff couldn't avoid a Texas sized hangover.
I forgot about NDSU! Oh, man, what a horrible team.

Please, guys, show up and destroy them. We need it and they need itd.

Bingo. We aren't 6-2. We are 4-4. There is still a lot left to play for.

Yes. CPR and his staff have already proven they have the ability to pull out huge upset victories. Time to prove they can win the games they should..and win convincingly.

6+ wins after playing the toughest schedule in the NCAA would be a monumental achievement for this program.

That's a good point- going to a bowl game with the TOUGHEST schedule in FBS should count for something!

The thing I keep thinking about is how big that K-State game was. If we would have just been able to get the W in Kansas City, we would be playing KU for bowl eligibility. That would be nice

Still, after the last couple weeks I'm just happy we can still think bowl game and have a realistic shot at it. And I'm with the majority on here in being nervous about the KU game. We're Iowa State and I will never forget that. NO game is a gimme. Ever.

In another thread the other day someone was saying Sagarin had us like 30-40 or worse on SOS. I asked for an explanation but didnt see one. Anyone?

As I recall, we were expecting to get a thrashing from Texas last week and ended up winning. Hopefully we don't have that road win over a ranked oppenent like they did.

Anyone who isn't at least a little nervous about the KU game hasn't been an ISU fan for more than 1.5 years. Luckily, that same mentality should keep our team from looking past anybody. I think this team shows up with something more to prove on Saturday.

I read this week's Sagarin SOS for us as #6... with #s 1--5 all in the Pac 10.

And with us yet to play Nebraska and Missouri. (and KU and CU of course)

Oklahoma and KSU losing probably hurt our SOS this week as well.

KU still has some good athletes, meaning they are capable of playing better than they have shown so far...but it sounds like they have little faith in their coach and they may not have much fight left in them...either way, I agree that ISU and its fans should expect to win this game. My prediction- ISU 37 KU 17

Re: KU Fans Expecting Major Blowout

I would love the blowout - but I've been an ISU fan long enough that I'll take any win we can get. A 3-score win (17+ points) would make the 3+ hour drive home from Ames a very happy one.
