Your disappointment may be in the stupid rating services for HS recruits & the over emphasis put on those, which many times gets carried forward to the player & their production or lack thereof.
SJ will continue to play a pivotal role on this team, & before this season is over (& his career for that matter), I have a feeling he will make more 'noticable' plays. 39 rec., 318 yards, 3 TDs in career = disappointment
His career has been 2.5 years long.
On the contrary, Jake Williams didn't even start accruing statistics until last season. His stats are 52 rec., 597 yards, 7 TDs in career

So, when Alvarez slid over to Center, who filled in a Gaurd? Just curious in case god forbid Lamaak isn't 100% on Saturday.

If his statistics were switched with Jake Williams', would he be a disappointment in your eyes? Would Jake be if he had SJ's numbers over his 'career'?
I'm happy to have both on the team and contributing to it. You go ahead & pinpoint which players are a disappointment to you & commit to your negative world. A team with predominantly 2 & 3 star guys just went into the house of a program known for being loaded with 4 & 5 star talent & pushed them around. Nothing 'disappointing' about that.

Here's to hoping that Lamaak is 100% this week. It was great to see all those rushing yards against Texas.

All of what you said in this statement doesn't change the fact that statistically SJ has been a rather large disappointment since stepping onto campus, especially considering the near legal ******* match that nearly ensued with his mother and A&M over it. As far as "pushing Texas around" on Saturday, I don't remember SJ's name being called on Saturday a whole lot, if ever, so I'm not sure what point you're exactly trying to make with that - unless it's because SJ is a great blocker. Which is great, but the only problem is you don't recruit a WR because he's a great blocker - you recruit a WR because he's a great pass catcher, which is something SJ has never proven he's capable of doing at this level, certainly not for a 3-star WR that was 4-stars in some circles.
Nobody said we didn't want SJ to be a Cyclone. What we're saying is, for a highly-touted recruit that's now in his junior year, it's time to take the kiddy gloves off and step his game up, or things like Money taking his place in the depth chart is going to happen.

Not negative one bit, it's a reality and a fact. Ask the staff if they are disappointed in SJ's production. I'd bet my house on the answer being "yes".
So in your world, fans are not allowed to be disappointed in a player? Can we be impressed then? Let us know what is and isn't allowed.
Fact - ever year on every team in ever sport at every level there will be players that impress and players that disappoint.

I don't think you even need to ask the staff that question. The fact that Money took SJ's spot on the depth chart is probably all the answer you need.

That's what you are saying. What I am saying, for a kid with that kind of athletic ability and talent, he should be able to do more. Is not anything to do with his recruiting stars and such - but his physical tools and skills he displayed in high school - and rare occasions as this level.
I believe this to be more of an effort/motivation thing than it is anything else.

>> AA threw the ball where no one else could catch it. Much like the TD pass to Franklin against Tech. Under-throw those passes and they get intercepted, giving you something bigger to complain about.[/QUOTE]
I'm not talking about the Tech game... His 11-23 performance in Austin was suspect. For a senior who practiced all winter and summer on accuracy he hasn't show the ability to consistently hit open receivers. Say what you want about - he's throwing the ball where no one else could catch it- all I saw was Arnaud missing receivers in the flat, missing receiver over the middle and fluttering two dead ducks toward the sidelines that were thankfully caught.

SJ does a lot of little things well or he wouldn't be out there.
