reverse it. change the helmet to red and the logo to yellow. i like the thinner logo

Take Texas' helmet and put the logo we use on our helmets right now. Or what the OP has, but use the "regular" I-State logo instead of flipped colors.

ours are not changing for quite some time....so this is a fruitless exercise. JP has his mark...and it will not change anytime soon.

Count me as one of the people who wanted the Chizik logo and Chizik uniforms gone when Gene Chizik left ISU. I was jaded by the whole experience with Chizik and knew the I-State logo probably had little to do with him personally, other than marketing and branding the Chizik Era.

But the design is pretty nice, and the uni's look sharp. And it's not like we can take an eraser and remove Gene Chizik from our football history just by changing logos and uni's yet again, unless we actually did so.

So we're stuck with Chizik stuff. Fortunately years three and four of the Chizik Era at ISU have gone better than the first two years when he was actually here.

Wasn't the idea originally to do white helmets and everyone threw a fit, so they made them cardinal? I really like what we have. Personally, I'd have went with Yellow helmets when we did the switch. Now that we have something though, I'd really like to stick with it. No matter what our look is, we need to stick with it for a while so we are recognized. I think the worst thing we could do right now, after beating Texas, would be to change our look. A lot of people around the country saw our helmets on Saturday, our game was being hi-lited during just about every game. Let's keep the look so people know who we are. You change after a miserable season, not when you have one that you want people to recognize you.

It's basic marketing 101, you only change your logo when you are losing market share. We gained some on Saturday, so we need to show up next year so people can say when they see us, "Oh, this is the team that beat Texas last year, we might want to watch this game.

The jerseys should stay the same forever. We finally have "traditional" looking jerseys. They are sweet. I agree...the home jerseys should NOT have any white in them at all. We are cardinal and gold....that is it. As for the Chizik references to them....he never had our players names on the back....and CPR does.....so in a way, they are different. So if that helps ya. The I-State logo is sweet as well. Again, traditional looking. I love it.

As for the helmets: I wish we had at least one yellow stripe going down the center of the helmet or two yellow stripes. But honestly, our helmets are sweet without them as well. The grey facemasks look cool and traditional too. Way better than the "navy blue" facemask crap with McCarney. God...I still shudder at that freaking navy blue. I only suggest them (the stripes) to get away from the USC talk, and a stripe down the center of the helmet would have done that.

Another suggestion on the helmets would be to have some random alternate yellow helmets for special home games like some teams do. The yellow helmet must have two strips of cardinal going down the center....and the basic I-State logo can still be used on the yellow helmet. Again, we would have been the only team in the conference sporting the "yellow" helmet look. SEC has LSU, PAC 10 has Arizona State (even when they have the dark red pants on the yellow helmet looks sweet with them), though Oregon has an alternate yellow too in the P10. It would have been a good look for ISU.

Also, pride stickers would be cool. Use the little tornado Cy like Florida State uses their tomahawks.

Washington State has alternate color helmets that are pretty sweet. So maybe in the future we could have the yellow hat look against K-State or Iowa...etc...rivalry games.
