I'm just saying, the complaining is annoying. Iowa fans not giving other teams due is also equally annoying. It would just be nice, if for once, in a post-game thread, we didn't have to read about how the refs were trying to screw over ISU. It would be nice if you could get over yourself, and stopped leading everything back to Iowa.

not sure why everyone is so gitty that paul rhoads is being unsportsmanlike... even if the refs have it coming. Its not like it does much good anyway. If any good. I don't know how much football you watch, but it is the coach's JOB to be an advocate for the team and coach did just what any good coach should be doing.

It was an awesome win, the players and the coaches sure as **** earned it. Yeah, and Michael Jordan didn't get the benefit of the doubt from the refs either.
I don't think that the refs are "out to get" ISU, but I do believe that they give the power teams/favorites favorable calls. Ever heard of home cookin? It was on display. I'm glad CPR stood up for the team.

I can see that SplitIdentity is newly back from timeout...

That tossing of a game ball was the breaking of the curse. Realize this and we can move to that level as well, the level Dan McCarney wasn't.
And in that same breath we'll get over the Iowa fans challenging us.

I'm just saying, the complaining is annoying. For the record, you're officially complaining about complaining.

Re: I have been on the sidelines a lot
There is no doubt that referees, just like the general public, come into games with a perception of the expected outcome. Try as one might, that perception can and will affect the officials calls.
The long-time perception of ISU football is that we are not expected to win many games. While we are not officially lining up eleven men against twelve; we actually are at times.
The best we can hope for is to change the perception that puts us in this predicament. I think CPR is doing that. I also better understand why KSU's Snyder scheduled/schedules as he does. Perhaps if ISU football earns enough respect and comes to be perceived something like Gonzaga in basketball, our team will eventually come to some benefit. More importantly, we may no longer have to fight through the preconceived "loser" perception.

Check out any thread after a close loss, FB or BB, and it's always, "The Clones are always jobbed by the officials."
And people ***** about Iowa fans "never losing". So besides being a Hawkster . . complaining about our win . . you must be a little league official?

It was crazy. Never seen a coach yelling stuff like that. I think he actually scared the main ref. The back judge would not even walk by our bench. Especially in the 4th quarter. Love the intensity and passion, but any chance part of the reason for the biased refs was because of the coach's interactions with them? How would you react if someone was yelling obscenities at your while doing your job? Some might do anything to get him to stop, others might get ****** and make it worse out of spite.

I'm glad CPR stood up for the team. I agree with this - home cooking is very alive and well, but it's around most home teams. Just do a quick search, and see some of the threads that pop up after the KSU game, TTU game, or half the basketball games last year. My point is that the crying about officials is annoying, and I'm not the first person to say something about it.
My point is, and has been, this was a great win for the ISU program, and the team. It just amazes me that there are still people on this site who can still find SOMETHING to ***** about, after beating a ranked team for the first time in 20 years on the road, and beating Texas for the first time ever.
You don't see anything a little sad about that? Originally Posted by CyDude16 I can see that SplitIdentity is newly back from timeout... Nope, I've been here the entire time.
