Matt Tau'fo'ou: Any News???
Has anyone heard anything on how Tau'fo'ou is coming along from his injury?? I think he is a must have for NU and it would be nice to have him back this week for a knock the rust off game. Even if his impact and total plays are a minimum.....

Re: Matt Tau'fo'ou: Any News???
I agree...getting him back and in good form for NU could be a really big deal. We can get out of having to go with so much nickel coverage and slide Benton back over to corner. I like the combo of Benton and LJ against the run. I think it has been severely understated how much the injury to Matt has hurt.

He mentioned that Taufoou has started to participate in practices again. No sure if by that he meant the conditioning aspect or plays. He did not mention a timeframe for his return.

A couple weeks ago they were targeting a NU comeback, possibly this week. CPR said his rehab was coming along well. From what I've heard, we will probably see him next week.

He did say in the call in show that today he would practice, not in what capacity tho. I like our D better with Klein at MLB'r.

I am not saying I don't I just think the depth at LBer has to help especially against a run happy team like NU..... We need to rotate in more to keep our LB's fresh....

I don't like this rotation bull **** and trying to keep guys fresh. Guarantee most guys on our team played in come capacity on both sides of the ball in high school. Especially if they came from smaller schools.
So conditioning for anyone with maybe the exception of linemen shouldn't be an issue when it comes to playing the entire game on 1 side of the ball

Plan on seeing him play next week against the Skers.

I am sorry but freshness in the front 7 has more impact on a team then you think.... Our Offense could not move the ball and the Defense was on the field way longer than they needed to be, in both of these games it came into play...... So unless you want us to get blown out by NU comparable to OU and Utah, you should agree with me..... -

So conditioning for anyone with maybe the exception of linemen shouldn't be an issue when it comes to playing the entire game on 1 side of the ball Little bit of difference between high school and Division 1 there chief. The game is played 100 times faster and the athletes are much much better all over the field. Comparing the two in any capacity is ludicrous. You can condition until your blue in the face but playing over 90 snaps in a game plus practicing all week wears on people. So it really has nothing to do with whether they "conditioned." Depth is absolutely paramount at this level.

Being a strength and conditioning guy, Honestly I feel like we should be somewhat concerned with the amount of hits and contact Klein and Knott are taking. They have BRIGHT futures and the toll they are taking on the body could come back to haunt them by their senior years we need all the depth we can get...we should pray that guys like Morgan and Mattison and George and a maybe a couple of the incoming guys next year can add more depth. Did you really just compare highschool to college football?
