Forget that Baylor is bowl eligible for the first time and is currently LEADING the south division. I can appreciate your enthusiasm for what Rhoads has done, but what happens if he loses the next three games? Is he a worse coach than he is today?
Again, I said he's put together a solid season (Or did your red and gold glasses not allow you to see that?) but I just don't think it's near enough to be in consideration for COY. Stupid hawk fan, did you not see what I bolded?

Only about 800 votes away from passing Saben and breaking the top 5!

I'll admit, unless we win out (including the Big 12 championship and bowl game), I don't think CPR should even be mentioned as a national coach of the year candidate. But, since fans are allowed to vote on this one, I knew he'd be getting a lot of votes...because, after all, we're known as Internet voting champs!
Also, I believe the Internet voting is just one aspect of this. Don't they take the top 10 or 15 coaches voted by the fans, then have a group of "experts" narrow it down from there? That's where I'm guessing CPR would be eliminated, again, unless we win out.

(even in the unlikely event you go 7-5 dare I say 6-6) How'd this turn out for you? Seriously, do you realize

Re: Liberty Mutual's Coach of the Year!
400 more votes puts CPR in the top 5 then the work begins.

gotta bump it. My computer won't let me download a daily reminder.CPR is solidly entrenched in 5th place. A long way to go for 4th.

all that said. unless we win out there is absolutely zero reason CPR should be considered for COY. he is good and has done well. but is not COY caliber at this point. impressive? yes. the best? no.

My thought exactly. I have no problem admitting he's done an admirable job, but it isn't quite up to national coach of the year. IMO, if Baylor wins 2 or so more games, Briles has all but locked up Big 12 COY. Again, I like Rhoads and think he will do some great things at ISU if he can build some continuity. Just being objective, which is apparently frowned upon by some on this site.
