You didn't happen to post on an Oregon site did you? What was the site if you did? Thanks!

Again, I said he's put together a solid season (Or did your red and gold glasses not allow you to see that?) but I just don't think it's near enough to be in consideration for COY.

I never understood the need for "Perrault sucks" threads. They're like threads titled "Water is Wet" or "Fire can Burn You".

I haven't seen any threads started about Ferentz for COY, but since you're going to be a ******; this is the difference between Iowa and Iowa State: When Iowa goes 6-6, there are loud grumblings about the coach being fired. When ISU goes 6-6, there is a massive campaign for Coach of the Year.

I'll admit, unless we win out (including the Big 12 championship and bowl game), I don't think CPR should even be mentioned as a national coach of the year candidate. But, since fans are allowed to vote on this one, I knew he'd be getting a lot of votes...because, after all, we're known as Internet voting champs!

Also, I believe the Internet voting is just one aspect of this. Don't they take the top 10 or 15 coaches voted by the fans, then have a group of "experts" narrow it down from there? That's where I'm guessing CPR would be eliminated, again, unless we win out.

400 more votes puts CPR in the top 5 then the work begins.

gotta bump it. My computer won't let me download a daily reminder.CPR is solidly entrenched in 5th place. A long way to go for 4th.

not exactly parallels here. this decade iowa has established a strong winning tradition of jan bowls, bcs bowls, and being in the hunt for conference titles. just 4 years ago isu was the bottom of the barrel in the big 12 winning 5 games in two years. going from that to actually competing in the big 12 north and competing for bowl wins is a monumental step for a program like isu. we have almost zero history or winning tradition. it is harder to win at places like isu and baylor than it is to win at a school like iowa where you have a winning tradition. 6 wins for isu IS more impressive than iowa winning 9 games right now.

all that said. unless we win out there is absolutely zero reason CPR should be considered for COY. he is good and has done well. but is not COY caliber at this point. impressive? yes. the best? no.

My thought exactly. I have no problem admitting he's done an admirable job, but it isn't quite up to national coach of the year. IMO, if Baylor wins 2 or so more games, Briles has all but locked up Big 12 COY. Again, I like Rhoads and think he will do some great things at ISU if he can build some continuity. Just being objective, which is apparently frowned upon by some on this site.
