Rhoads: Don't sleep on Kansas
Some comments from CPR after last night's practice regarding some of the issues KU is having right now. http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/footba...leep-on-kansas -
Re: Rhoads: Don't sleep on Kansas
I hope we dont overlook them. We need to pound their heads in. Just have to stay focused and blow them to pieces.

I really like that he has this team getting ready in this mindset. I just hope he can make them keep it through out the game too! We know what happens when we begin to relax against KU at half time.

Re: Rhoads: Don't sleep on Kansas
We cannot afford to overlook anybody. Kansas will be ready to play and we had better be ready also.

I can about guarantee that they are looking at this game as one of the last "winnable" games left on their schedule. I am glad to see CPR is not letting anybody get in that mindset that all we need to do is show up to win.
“I told you, I don’t care if you’re black or white. I don’t care if you’re rich or poor. I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads -
Re: Rhoads: Don't sleep on Kansas
Kansas has been getting beaten down lately coming into a game that nobody gives them a chance to win. Sounds like us going into Austin last weekend. Hopefully Rhoads gets them focused on that and taking each game as they come. We need every victory we can get, and we're past the point of giving them away this season.

Re: Rhoads: Don't sleep on Kansas
Hopefully our PLAYERS don't take KU lightly either. Mack Brown took ISU seriously but the Texas players did not. (At least according to him).
I can't really see how our guys could get big headed enough to overlook KU. They are not good, but we aren't good enough to just walk into JTS and roll them. We are good enough, however, to play determined- bowl bound football and roll them!

I think with these CPR quotes he will make sure they are ready.

I also wish they were playing a qb that had some decent film or game time. While PR said they know a little about him, the unknown scares the crap out of me. The past has little bearing on this game or this team, but ISU's track record against backup qbs isn't exactly great. See Daniel, Chase.

Re: Rhoads: Don't sleep on Kansas
If there was one week we could ill-afford to fall asleep on an opponent, it would be this week. Everything we gained by beating Texas in Austin would be lost in 60 minutes. And probably then some. This game was "must win" before we shocked the world - it's no less important now.
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -

It seems like there is another recent example of this happening to us, but I can not put my finger on it...anyone?
Boom.....transfer the karma -
Re: Rhoads: Don't sleep on Kansas
If our offense would score on the first possession, that would be nice for a change.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

jake christainsen coming in after halftime and bringing iowa back from 0-12 to a 13-12 lead... eventually to lose though.

In 2005, KU's backup came into the game in the second half and rallied them to tie at the end of regulation, including a 5-play drive in the last minute to score the tying TD.
We all know how that one ended.
