Coaching Staff
We all know KU is not a good FB team. But I think CPR and the staff showed once again today why we are in good hands.
This had trap/hangover game written all over it. MSU gets big comeback win last week, lays egg in IC this week. MU gets huge win last week, laying big egg so far this week.
We get huge upset last week, and our team comes out flat/poor. But coaching staff rallies the team and takes care of business in the next 15 minutes of the 3rd Q.
Our hangover/trap only lasted 30 minutes. Credit to CPR, staff and team.
Guarantee the team will be jacked next week. Don't know if we can hang with NU, but so much looking forward to letting it play out. If they hold on this week, they will start to overlook ISU next week. Trap city.

Re: Coaching Staff
i tend to agree, but the big difference is that Kansas is really, really bad, and ISU should have hammered them. MSU and MU are both teams that gamble a lot on defense and so far have gotten away with it. This week is a lot different.

Re: Coaching Staff
What I like are the POSITIVE adjustments at the half.
Our offense was terrible for the first 30 minutes, but they made the changes they needed to and essentially dominated the 2nd half.
Oh, and the defense was amazing all game long. Great work by Wally and Co.

Re: Coaching Staff
So nice to see adjustments after the Chizik era.

Re: Coaching Staff
I think our players were to blame for the weak first half. Fumbles, dropped passes and missed blocks. That changed in the 2nd half.

Re: Coaching Staff
I think this game showed the big difference from Rhoads and his staff to Danny Mac and hisstaff. I know they were getting compared on here earlier in the week, and I think the biggest difference is in-game-coaching. In the Mac era, that 21-0 3rd quarter probably wouldn't have happened and this might've ended up in the L column. The staff made some great halftime adjustments today and came out to take control against a team with much less talent.

Re: Coaching Staff
I would say just beating KU by 12 was a huge hangover. Again, we should have put 50+ on them to make the status quo statement that every other Big 12 team is putting on them. Very disappointed we weren't able to do this, however, I am very happy with the win and hope they can turn it up against NU now that this trap game is over with.

Re: Coaching Staff
Here's the difference. We came out flat and came back to easily beat a very bad Kansas team. Mizzou came out flat against a one loss Nebraska team at Nebraska and paid for it. MSU came out flat against a two loss Iowa team in Iowa City and next thing they knew, they were too far back to have a shot. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the resilient effort by our boys, but let's not wrap a turd up in gold paper. We beat a terrible Kansas team at home where Mizzou and MSU struggled against very good teams while on the road. If we have a first quarter against Nebraska next week like we did this week, we'll be too far behind to catch up.

Re: Coaching Staff
Herman listened to CPR. I am happy, the world is back in balance.

Re: Coaching Staff
Yeah i'm pretty sure Herman got his *** chewed out at halftime. The play calling was much better in the second half.

We were playing a team that we were supposed to pound. If you've ever played in a football game where you were supposed to roll the other team-- and it seemed no matter how bad you beat them-- it will never be enough- type of game.. Those games can be tough.. REALLY tough to come out and play lights out.

Re: Coaching Staff
A win is a win. I cannot get over how proud I am of Coach Rhoads and his staff. When was the last time we had a football team that got better as the season went on? When was the last time we had a football team that started flat and was able to recover? When was the last time we had a football team that made good half-time adjustments. I cannot think of one, definitely not Mac or Chizik. So we did not roll over KU, at least we won and are only one win away from bowl eligibility despite the fact that we have the toughest schedule this year.

Re: Coaching Staff
I like watching Rhoads lead the team through the Athletic Building before games. He walks with that attitude that he is in charge and if you dont like it than get the **** out of his way.

I would more then likely pass out because he would fill my head with so much wisdom.
