Better shot at the Holiday or Texas probably even if that happens.
3 wins gets us there though.

Do not read into bowl projections -- ESPECIALLY with 4 weeks left in the season and championship Saturday.
Even then, they don't consider intangibles in a conference like the Big XII where bowl representatives have complete freedom over selections.
The campaign starts now. November 6, 2012. -

Once we get our 6th win, then I'll start to worry about whether we would turn down a New Mexico Bowl invite. Until then I'm just going to hope that we even have that chance!
Assuming we do get a 6th win though, I think we are going to own whatever bowl we go to, since we'll be one of the best 6-6 or 7-5 teams in the country.

Re: CBS Bowl Projections Oct 30th...
ISU may need an at-large spot, so we need as few bowl eligible teams as possible
Important Teams to Root against
Notre Dame
Fresno State
Idaho
BYU
Georgia
Michigan
Purdue
Clemson
Southern Cal winning out and the Pac 10 being short would be good also.
There are quite a few others, but these are the big ones. SEC, MWC and WAC all have a good shot of not having enough teams. The Big East is a cluster ****.

Also, why would KSU be taken ahead of us? We would most likely be 4-4 and they would be 3-5. I know that they don't necessarily go in order, but would think we would go ahead of them.

It's all about who the bowls think will bring in the most cash. Head to head and conference record don't matter much for Big XII bowls.
