This week will earn (or deny) CPR the raise
After embarassing Nebraska in Lincoln last year, Iowa State has turned a number of heads all over the nation. Paul Rhoads is now known in the media and his Cyclone squad is put on the map. However, an embarassing loss this weekend (blowout or something like that) against Nebraska may take away from his resume at ISU. In my opinion, the coaching staff has a tremendous opportunity this week (and this week only) to claim a bigger paycheck. The fans came out and supported in bunches. Last weekend was packed, and I am sure it will be packed against Nebraska too.
Here's the deal: We cannot beat Nebraska or stay competitive with them if we dwell on last year's win. this Nebraska team is taking cheap shots to win - they are hungry and they want to make a statement. We have to play smart ball throughout the entire game. Beating Nebraska will be tougher than taking on Utah in my opinion because they have the revenge in mind. This game will get ugly if we let them look like Heisman trophy contenders. Coach Rhoads, all eyes on you, let's continue building.
go Cyclones!

In my opinion, CPR has already earned a raise. This week, Wally and Herman have the opportunity to argue for bigger paychecks.

I don't think anything will be taken away from CPR if we get blown out this weekend. Yes it will surely be disappointing, but not unexpected.

He's probably already earned his raise.

I don't think 3 high scoring beatdowns (Utah, Oklahoma and Nebraska potentially) in the same season would earn him the raise - just my opinion. However, a bowl victory will definitely do the trick, no doubt!

this weekend isn't going to make or break anything for CPR. we've already done more with less than most thought we would, and have three games left that will determine our fate. just getting us in that position qualifies the man for a raise in my opinion.
good things are to come with CPR at the helm!

Re: This week will earn (or deny) CPR the raise
If CPR motivation for Coaching was money, I do not think he would be at ISU. It's a living correct, but my guess CPR does it cause he loves it, and ISU.

I'm still happy with the season, but it would be nice to see us somewhat competitive in these games, especially after seeing tons of other teams hang with (or beat) the ones who destroyed us.

i mean we could use that extra money to jump start the endzone project?
he needs to be paid what he's worth, and at this point after what he has accomplished in the past 1.75 years, he's worth more than any coach we've previously had (yes mccarney did more in his tenure, but not in the first 2 years). however this weekend isn't going to change that, he is alread deserving of a pay raise/contract extension.
let's make CPR Oprah rich!

let's make CPR Oprah rich! Here we go again
In that 1.75 year, he's already surpassed DMac.

46,500 isn't "packed." Decent crowd, but nothing more than that.
Rhoads is doing a great job. But .500 seasons aren't the stuff of legends. Great start, though, one of the best ever for an ISU coach.
