Except we'd be playing Central Florida.

Re: Rivals.com projects ISU to Liberty Bowl
Didn't we play in the Liberty Bowl in like 1971 or 1972?

Re: Rivals.com projects ISU to Liberty Bowl
I think ISU would match up pretty darn good with UCF

well, that's pretty much my point. I'm more concerned with just becoming bowl eligible, at this point, than I am with which bowl we would theoretically go to. Colorado is not going to be a walk in the park. We don't have the greatest track record, there.

@Colorado St. Won 24-3
@California Lost 7-52
Hawaii Won 31-13
Georgia Won 29-27
@Missouri Lost 0-26
Baylor Lost 25-31
Texas Tech Lost 24-27
@Oklahoma Lost 10-43
They have two close losses to a solid Baylor and Tech.

Re: Rivals.com projects ISU to Liberty Bowl
If we are bowl eligible I would take this a million times better over the Humanitarian Bowl or the New Mexico Bowl. Plus I'd likely go to the Memphis Bowl, can't say that about those two or the Pinstripe.
If we scrounge out one more game (which we should, but lets not get ahead of ourselves), I would be happy to take an invite from the Liberty Bowl. I'd rather be in Texas, but I think I could have a good time spending a week in Memphis.
Edit: SEC already has 6 bowl eligible teams though, and Florida only needs one more win (with an FCS team yet to go, a good FCS team, but an FCS team) and Georgia would only need wins over Idaho State and Georgia Tech. I guess we all need to be pulling for a fellow Ag/Technology School and hope that the Ramblin' Wreck wins that one!
Edit again: Rivals is projecting two SEC BCS teams, I take it back. Still pulling for Georgia Tech though. Gotta support fellow engineers.

Oh, well. Let's just beat them and see where the chips fall.

Re: Rivals.com projects ISU to Liberty Bowl
CU still lost to Texas Tech at home, when we handled them pretty well. CU and ISU talent wise are pretty close, but I think ISU has better coaching, so that should mean a win.

Oh, well. Let's just beat them and see where the chips fall. Cal is probably the most bipolar team of all time this year.

Re: Rivals.com projects ISU to Liberty Bowl
This would be sweet. New Year's Eve, ESPN, bowl with history/tradition, and an 8 hour drive. The only down side is playing the CUSA champion and if it was SMU or Houston that wouldn't even be that bad.
The best possible option would be the Texas Bowl and then the Dallas Classic. Need some help to probably get there though. I would love to get a shot at Illinois in one of those games.
