I'm numb right now...

Sitting in Section 21, I had a good view of it all. My brother looked at me and said "I smell a fake for the win right here." No way, was my response. But to my surprise, that was the call. As the play unfolded and we had it wide open, I saw CPR being immortalized right there, on the spot, on National TV, with a Big 12 North title in sight.

But, sadly, it just didn't happen. Right now I'm numb. I keep replaying that thing in my mind. A little stronger throw and we're on cloud 9 right now, whatever the h--- that means.

Sadly, this is going to be one of those "what ifs" that's going to stick with me for a LONG, LONG time. I can only imagine how the team and coaches feel.

That's why 60,000 people didn't move until 5 minutes after the game.

Don't feel bad. Iowa State would have never made this call if Dan McCarney was still coaching and that's exactly why we were losing so much in the past. Keep in mind Nebraska is a 7th ranked team and to take them to overtime takes a lot of impressive plays. This game is not lost by the poor throw at the end. This game is lost by a number of missed plays such as field goals, interception and so on.

Be happy that coach Rhoads can coach and we can look forward to beating ranked opponents. I love my team and I love my coach.

I feel the same way I felt when we lost to Kansas for a chance to play in the B12 championship game.

The only difference is that I feel our program is headed in the right direction now. This is just a taste of what awaits. Bring it on.

I think as you look back at this game it is important to look back at the other important plays as well particularly our turnovers when thinking what could of been.

Hold it together my friend. Cyclones are playing with heads up high, hanging with the big dogs here. Nebraska is a good team, we limited their runs and probably the only team to do so effectively. It was a great game. Sometime its not about the wins or even the moral wins. SOmetime its just about the game played with the right calls from the coaches and appreciating it.

You must be counting all the people watching on TV, because the NE fans were moving.

Feel the same way. Can't imagine how the team feels. On the positive side, I think we have turned the corner, we just went toe to toe with Texas and Nebraska and could have beat them both. I would look forward to more games like this in the future, very excited to have opportunities like this going forward. I really think we have turned the corner, I never really felt that way before, can't explain it....I think it is because physically we have not been over matched by Texas and Nebraska and we keep getting better.
