Suprised more people aren't discussing taking a knee
Great game, but I can't say that I've ever seen an offense take a knee with so much time and timeouts just for a tie? I loved the call to go for 2 but really question not trying to get into fg position with 40 secs left. Thought is was vote of zero confidence in AA's ability to throw the ball. He couldn't run and can't throw...they kept him on the field too long today.

The odds of something going wrong and leading to an outright Nebraska win were probably better than getting the needed yardage in 40 seconds. It was a good call.

not much discussion because it was the right call.

I can see it both ways. Part of me wouldve liked to see us try something, but otoh, we needed quite a few yards and risked giving the ball up with what we wouldve needed to do to get in scoring position.

there was no reason to not at least give it to a-rob and see if he could get something going
we were making fun of ferentz for doing this during the OSU game last year; i was disappointed rhoads didn't at least make an attempt at it... he usually isn't afraid of taking a risk

Re: Suprised more people aren't discussing taking a knee
I understand the call.. since if we turn the ball over then are right there for the win. With that said, I would have at least tried taking a shot down the field...

Re: Suprised more people aren't discussing taking a knee
Nope... I didn't question it at all. It was pretty obvious passing situation and with Nebraska already picking off 2, why throw it around when they're in field goal range? Just doesn't make sense. CPR coached a hell of a game, and people need to realize he made the right choice.

You have a QB that likes to force things and NU has as great FG kicker. AA throws a pick and game over.

Do you really think at that point of the game he was going to take one to the house.

Shoulda taken one deep shot, but CPR is the coach for a reason.

One fumble on a running play and Nebbie is in scoring position without enough time for us to counter.
Go to OT, we're going to be in scoring position as opposed to our own 20. It was a smart call to take the knee.
I think about what would happen if we take a shot downfield:
1) Our receivers aren't as athletically gifted as their DBs, so getting open for that is difficult.
2) They are going to blitz and bring heavy pressure. Heavy pressure.
3) With no time to make a call, it's a gamble where that ball is going. Could be a fumble, INT, incompletion, but the odds are good that it's a bad thing, and a bad thing on our end of the field.

I don't get it. So the logic here says taking a knee was the right call because it was too risky to try to move the ball, but throwing a pass with the extra point holder was a perfect call even thought it didn't work.
My thought is both were poor calls, take the chance to win late in the game ( not a knee) and take the game into another OT at home (not a flip to a Nebraska DB)

nebraska had no time outs and were afraid to throw the ball with the wind against them... even if we turned it over, what are the odds they could have done anything with it in the last 30 seconds?
