So quit giving the Nebraska DB credit when none is due..........but the way good call it was there, I'll always stand behind CPR's decisions.
Quit telling people what to do. Haag made the play on that duck.
Re: Quit giving Nebraska credit for..........
I agree that the pass was bad enough that Franklin wouldn't have made the catch whether Haag was there or not. What Haag did was irrelevant IMO.
Re: Quit giving Nebraska credit for..........
You have to give him some credit. If it was us we would be going on about how great a play he made. Take off your Cyclone glasses for a minute.
With that being said, I've watched that again and I have to agree that I'm not sure if Franklin would have been able to catch it either. That was a bad pass, but Franklin acted like he almost forgot that he was supposed to be catching a ball and not just running a route.
If anyone had the "oh crap" look it was Franklin when he realized he wasn't looking for the ball and the defender was coming over to help.

Didn't Arnaud say that they have practiced the play "1000" times in practice?
Re: Quit giving Nebraska credit for..........
Fate if funny.
Haag was fooled on that play and if it had worked he would be getting raked over the coals by talk radio, while Khuel would have been the next Marv Seiler.
Re: Quit giving Nebraska credit for..........
Cycsk- I don't care if they practiced it a million times, the back-up punter is not somebody you want throwing the ball when the game is on the line unless he was also a good high school qb. Throwing the ball in practice and throwing it in a game with the pressure on are two different animals. And somebody tried to blame Franklin for not running to the ball? He was trying, it was just so badly underthrown that he couldn't get back to it.
Re: Quit giving Nebraska credit for..........
The one thing I saw watching a reply that I never noticed at the game was that Prince Amukamara was on the side of the fake and had containment on the play. He took a little step toward Kuehl and then basically stayed out there in contain. I wonder if, from Kuehls perspective, he thought he had to lob the ball over Amukamara's head?

Unless that back up punter provided a surprise factor that was practiced regularly.. And I hear it worked in practice, and caught most folks on and off the field by surprise.. I say bravo, it just was a badly thrown ball on a good trickery situation. It was a good call in my book. There. I said it..

I wouldn't call it Cyclone glasses. Yeah, he made a play on the ball, but it didn't really matter. If Haag was a ghost on that play, it wouldn't have mattered because the ball would have just hit the ground. No way does Franklin make it back to that duck no matter if Haag were there or not.

Yeah and you definitely don't want him running the option with the kicker either. Really. I bet Kuehl never ran the option in a real game even high school so swe shouldn't do it in a gane either. :jimlad:
Point being, the kid has made pressure plays before and makes them every time the ball is snapped in a kicking situation. Our deep snapper has been horrible all year.

The bottom line is the real one in the game didn't work.
I'll bet that next year's holder is a QB!
