Seems keeping that stuff within the team would be ideal.
I don't think it's bad, this one just made me wonder why he'd even mention it.
That was my thought as well, but at this point, are there really coaches not preparing for ISU to fake at any time? Also, maybe he is giving misinformation, wanting them to look at antiquated/false fakes?
NU had PAT safe on, and the play was still open. I think he is not counting just on surprise, but out scheming them.

Prepare for the fake? Sure. All teams do regardless of who they are playing. The key is timing the fakes well. It's all a chess match.
Boise is known for their tricks. Yet they continue to work as the staff calls them at the right time and they are executed well. Is Boise 100% on fakes? Absolutely not. You win on some fakes and you lose on some. No different than winning on a 32 ISO and losing on the next 32 ISO.

Deception, and then execution are the keys more than anything. This is obvious to everyone.- any play, fake or not, will work better when the other team does not know it is the play called. Given what we have shown, NU was leery of a fake, but not for Franklin to slip out.

If I didn't know better, I'd think Coach Rhoads grew up playing video game football, with some of the special teams tricks that he uses.
