I don't know about kicking him off, but I know that James (the current center) was suspended and had to undergo therapy and all that fun stuff that goes along with multiple underage drinking/public intox violations.
I'm not sure if Brian got into any trouble.
His third son is just 16, so it couldn't have been him.
You're right. It must have been the current Ferentz that I was thinking of.
Not only is it difficult for the kid, but how about for the coach/dad?! I mean it HAS to be difficult to keep your son out of the lineup if that's what's better for the team.
It's probably best, at least in college, to not have a father/son tandem on the same team.
Now that James is starting center, Hawk fans have to hear about how Kirk supposedly can't chew out James for sucking it up at games or practices, otherwise he'll have to deal with the wife.
But yeah, it would put a coach in a tough spot. How do you deal with your son in the lineup so as not to be accused of nepotism? How do you deal with on or off-field incidents? As a father? Or as a coach?
Worked out for Pat Knight.
Clay Mattew's dad was his DC.
Yes, I'd say it "worked out" great for Pat Knight. He's a HC at a major conference basketball school without being remotely qualified.
His daddy resigned in mid-season just so TTech couldn't back out of giving his son the head job.
