I'm really, really feeling pain for Austen. He is such a great player and person that I hate to see for his football career to end like this. I couldn't have ever asked for someone to better represent the Cyclones and I wish him the best in wherever life takes him in the coming years. We will sorely miss him.

Edit: Sucks even more because I know he had hopes of continuing to play football at some level, and this injury could have been a death knell for that. Though to be honest I think he'd make a hell of a coach if he chooses to take that route.

Until this defeat did not realize how bad the talent level is on this ISU team compared to the rest of the conference. The only way the Cyclones can win is when they outcoach the opponent or when the other team loses focus. When the worst team in the conference dominates you, that says you had better step up the recruiting big time.

They're definitely not the worst team in the conference (certainly not from a talent standpoint), which is why they just let their coach go.

Talent had nothing to do with that loss. Had Texas shown up and played with the same focus and energy we did, they'd have lost too
