Teams to pull for if ISU becomes bowl eligible
I'm not ready to give up hope for a bowl yet. Every time people count us out under this coaching staff, we seem to come up with a surprise win. It CAN happen.
Realistically, if ISU wins we're going to a bowl game. That said, going to a bowl with a Big 12 tie-in is pretty unlikely unless the Big 12 gets two teams in the BCS. It's possible that could happen, but more than likely it won't. Here are some teams we should pull for to give us our best chance at going to a decent bowl. This list is about bubble teams, so I'm not including teams that have an easy path to bowl eligibility or teams that realistically have no shot. Not all of these games are this week.
Virginia AND Syracuse over Boston College
Kansas State OR Nebraska over Colorado
Texas A&M over Texas IOWA STATE OVER MISSOURI!!!!
Northwestern AND Fresno State over Illinois
Army AND USC over Notre Dame
Southern Miss AND Texas Tech over Houston
Kent State over Western Michigan
USC over Oregon State
Washington over UCLA
Stanford over California
Georgia Tech over Georgia
Vanderbilt OR Kentucky over Tennessee
Navy OR FIU over Arkansas State
North Texas over Louisiana-Monroe
I purposely left Big East games off the list, because it's complicated deciding who to root for and against after this week. Here's what to root for this week:
South Florida over Pittsburgh
Syracuse over Connecticut
West Virginia over Louisville
Cincinnati over Rutgers
I should add that we don't need all or even most of these things to happen. These are just some games to keep on eye on when you're watching college football. The most important, of course, is in bold: BEAT MISSOURI!!! -
