There will be some misty eyes on Saturday when he hobbles out.

Re: Thanks Austen
Austen has a huge heart and definitely was one tough SOB. Quite the contrast to Kurt Warner... one of the most accurate quarterbacks in NFL history.

Re: Thanks Austen
Totally agree, great role model for a student/athlete at ISU
Wishes for a quick and full recovery

Re: Thanks Austen
That kid gave everything to ISU. If nothing else I will miss his interviews and just the way he is the perfect example of how to conduct yourself as not only a student-athlete but a person.

He had the heart and desire you hope all players would have. Maybe he can take a knee as the Cyclones run out the clock celebrating their 6th win and a bowl bid.

Re: Thanks Austen
Still would like to see him play one last time against Missouri/Bowl... Classy post, Classy student athlete.

I just watched the video of his press conference. Absolutely love his attitude.

Re: Thanks Austen
Nice post, Mr. Capello. I also want to say that AA has been one of my favorite Cyclones. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching this young men lead this team for the last several years and his character, and especially his toughness, will be missed from here on out. I'm proud to have guys like AA as a representative of this university and my heart aches for him and how tough this must be to go out like this.
Although on paper this game looks awfully tough for us, I still haven't given up hope. I see our team playing inspired football on Saturday night and fighting for their "lives". After that Texas game I told myself I'm never gonna let myself think again that we're probably not going to win. I know any Saturday can be our Saturday... anything can happen... we can do this.
