ISU's Wide Receivers
Am I the only one that's amazed at how low the catching stats are for our wide-outs? Williams leads the receivers with 29, Darks 28, Reynolds 24, SJ 16 and Lenz has 12 on the year. I understand that Franklin has taken most of the catches with 51, but we don't even have a wideout that averages 3 balls a game. Isn't that pretty low? What's the future look like next year with our wide-outs and are we recruiting any?

Re: ISU's Wide Receivers
That is why we have so many of them. They do not know who to guard.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: ISU's Wide Receivers
Our WR corps are consistently overrated....well, by us here on the board anyway.

How many completions do we average per game? barely double digits. and yes, that is extremely low considering how many short passes we attempt.

Re: ISU's Wide Receivers
we lack speed obviously. And play making ability. And sure handedness.
All good spread teams have at least one or two of those guys on their teams. We will someday, but not quite yet.

It's not surprising anymore.

Re: ISU's Wide Receivers
They keep bringing in multiple WRs every year and none of them are worth a crap.

Not sure I agree with that we don't seem to have a problem getting the ball to our TE. If our TE wasn't catching the ball that might be true. It seems the QB can throw the ball to guys that are open.

Re: ISU's Wide Receivers
One thing I may add to the conversation here...WR's stats typically look much much better with a good accurate QB. Peyton Manning is making a patch work group of WR look like studs right now because he is deadly accurate. I agree that we need more speed and playmakers but a good QB will go a long way too.

He was brought in because he was supposed to be super fast. But Rhoads himself said that Josh Lenz is still the fastest WR. And he runs a 4.5x. Not game changing speed, but solid nonetheless. We could use more guys with Lenz type speed.

Of course its my opinion that West will be a stud, but Chris and CPR have both said great things about the kid and if you watch some of his highlight videos they are damn impressive.
