Football pregame

Now that the season is over, it's time to deal with some pressing issues, like our mess of a pregame.

I should preface this by saying that I believe the people in charge of pregame are trying their best to create a great atmosphere. Having said that, I often feel as if they have no idea what it takes to electrify a stadium full of college football fans before kickoff.

You do realize that Thunderstruck was played multiple times this season after the team took the field, right? The transition from entrace to coin toss to kickoff was the best it has been in a long time.

Typical day went:

Entrance
Thunderstruck during coin toss
Cut to Welcome to the Jungle for opening kick

agreed with most all of it.

it's brutally bad to sit through.

if everyone says it's a problem, then it probably is. why can we not seem to fix this glaring issue. the poeple in charge of this have to know how embarrassing it is right?

it's like watching that "we built Sioux City" video and actually being from the Sioux City area-you're left wondering what in the hell those people were thinking when they put that out for everyone to see.

Apparently, there are at least 3 songs played between the team entrance and kick. I think Zombie Nation is in there as well. Less is more.

It was to start the year. By the end of the season it migrated to Thunderstruck then Welcome to the Jungle.

I think the Cyclone Power chant should happen during coin toss and before the kick. Doing it before the guys get out there doesn't really do anything.

Next year the whole stadium may actually be able to hear the music. Glad to see the siren added middle of the year. We need to blare that thing next year.

The entrance is a cluster ****. Entrance videos have been pretty good the last few years, but then there is that awful transition from walking out of the Jacobsen, into the tunnel, and then WHEN ARE THEY COMING????....wait for it...music still going...wait for it...music still going...wait for it....music STOPS suddenly....band starts playing fight song...crowd realizes about 5 seconds later we are running on the field.
