Interesting as always. Called out fans in a good way. He said he wants to see Jack Trice full and going crazy on a regular basis.

I just caught the end of it.

They asked him to comment on the Pelini meltdown. Paul took the high road and talked about how he too gets a little overly emotional at times.

They also asked him to comment on next year's schedule. He said if anything next year will be even more difficult with 11 BCS schools on the schedule.

Darn! I just caught the very end before CPR hung up. Just caught him talking about that he thinks next year's schedule will be tougher than this year's was. Also, he said that he probably won't get in on the Black Friday doorbusters because he'll be flying out and doing some major recruiting visits this weekend. :-)

If someone can summarize the whole conversation, it would be GREATLY appreciated!!

They did. He said Tiller will start as number 1 but he by no means has the number 1 spot.

He called out the fans a bit. He doesn't buy the whole 'if you win, the fans will show up' line. He clearly thinks his teams have done enough to get fans to show up. Choose to ignore this if you wish.

He did talk about the QB situation. Said it was very likely that JT would start the spring with the 1's, but there was always a chance for someone else to step up.

Rhoads is refreshingly honest.

With regard to ISU fans; CPR is 100% correct.

What ISU needs just as badly though are casual fans and CFB fans willing to buy a ticket to an ISU game. The casual fans (bandwagon jumpers) aren't going to buy a ticket until ISU is consistently winning and challenging the cream of the confernence. We'll get there but ISU has NOT done enough so far to get people to jump onto the bandwagon.

I get the feeling that Rhoads wonders what in the hell he has to do to get that casual fan in the stands. I mean, good grief, he has won 12 games over 2 years. He's the first coach to do that ever at Iowa State. He has had several (I'd say 3) huge program-building type wins. He's shown that his brand of football is exciting and fun to watch.

I sense that as well. Most importantly to me, he trusts his players and plays to win.
