Our bowl chances determined this weekend?
If Texas loses at home to A&M this weekend and Colorado loses on the road to Nebraska (that one really pains me), does that help our chances of being selected for a bowl game since Texas and Colorado would finish at 5-7? Or are we already out of the picture?
If we are out of the picture, then I'm rooting for the Buffalos!

There are already 64 eligible teams (for 70 spots), and another 20 are still in contention.

Re: Our bowl chances determined this weekend?
Technically we aren't out of the picture, but unless pretty much all of the 5-6 teams lose this weekend we don't have much of a chance.

I'm not rooting against us here, but I'm not holding my breath on this.
I just assume that 5-7 leaves us out of the picture.

I hate to break it to you, but our bowl chances were determined last weekend already.

I just assume that 5-7 leaves us out of the picture. Im not either but 5-7 doesnt deserve a bowl bid in my opinion.

Re: Our bowl chances determined this weekend?
The question I have is how many of the 5-7, or even 6-6 teams are in the same boat that Kansas St. was last year? Where two of their wins came from Division 1AA teams?

We aren't going to a bowl. Football season is over. Focus on basketball and Coach Hoiberg's team.

If planets align and the fluke occurs, I won't whine about a bowl bid.
I will say this — if ISU gets to a bowl this season and finishes 5-8, I will never count it as a postseason appearance.
I won't even count it at 6-7, unless the opponent is a prominent program suffering through a sad-sack season.
Even then, I'm not sure I'll count it.

Everyone else who's still alive only needs 6 wins, except for Idaho (who needs to finish 7-6 b/c they have a 13-game schedule).
Arizona State has been eliminated at 4-6, since they beat two I-AA teams (Portland State and Northern Arizona).

Re: Our bowl chances determined this weekend?
I do NOT want us to go to a bowl game this year.
That would be embarrassing. Actually you shouldn't go to a bowl at 6-6 either IMO, but at least you don't have a losing record.

I don't want to go to a bowl at 5-7. It is bad enough that you go at 6-6.

Re: Our bowl chances determined this weekend?
I think we have a pretty good chance if theres a few 5-7 teams. Granted I don't know who exactly all the 5-7 teams are(will be)... But I think people are starting to hear about ISU now with some of our upset wins and near upsets(Nebraska this year). Like last year, even though Mizzou finished higher than us we were selected to a better bowl. Now if enough teams reach the mark then no there is no chance.
