Northern Illinois now #25 in BCS

The BCS standings came out. and who woulda thought that the hawks would end up being our weakest FBS non conf. game. Crazy season. Fairly impressive. The whole non-conf schedule was high quality. Will even UNI be in their post season? I know its a FCS team, but Look at the SEC and their scheduling cupcakes. Maybe its time to go with the whole "can't beat em join em" with the cupcakes.

Also, Shows how bad we've been crappin the bed when we play Iowa lately. Seems our guys get convinced by the Iowa media machine that those schmucks are National title teams and next thing you know the good guys are trying to do to much and turning the ball over.

Here's hoping next year we can laugh that BS off and finally play a decent game against the hawks. Not saying we should have won that game, but need to know that that game should never be a 20+ pt loss again.

I saw this today and was a bit surprised, but then again they ran their conference schedule and only lost two games. They probably deserve to be rated and hopefully will get a decent bowl game. Nice that we can hang our hat on giving them one of their two losses. I agree that it is funny that Iowa dropped out of the rankings this week, but Iowa would probably still take on NIU. IMO the real tale here is that ISU and NIU were teams that got better as the season progressed, Iowa never really improved, in fact probably got worse. But they'll be national title contenders next year right?

Using the handicap system in golf, Iowa was five plays away from 12-0.

Iowa beat Eastern Illinois in September, and the astute Iowa fan (90% of them) would never know the difference between E Illinois and Northern Illinois.

the media would never bring it up either

Eastern Illinois is one of the worst D1 teams in the country

Never mind the fact that they are probably less than that away from not being bowl eligible. But hey, keep the national Champ coolaid comin.

Just happy for NIU. They deserve it. Enjoyed their fans and enjoyed the game. Hope they win their bowl. They deserve it. If it's against Iowa all the better.
