RAG man Peterson: Slams ISU on Attendance
So . . I read his running Email discussion today in the RAG . . . and see the same CRAP I hear every year from the pro hauk reporters . . ISU's season attendance average was in the "mid thirties." Hence, ISU can't expect to keep coaches, etc/?
Anybody else getting tired of this propaganda?
So who is lying? ISU or this shill haukeye reporter?
And this guy COVERED ISU for this season . . did he attend any of the games??
Randy Peterson:
"I don't see Tom Herman going to a D-2 school, as you suggest. And do not believe everything you see on messageboards. If someone at the major-college level throws a lot of money at him to be an OC, then that could happen. And ISU fans have no one to blame but themselves -- hard to keep up with the Joneses when the season-attendance base is on the mid-30,000s"

Will ISU be able to hold on to Offensive Cord. Tom Herman? I know I have heard his name bounced around for head coaching at some D 2 schools.

Maybe he is referring to season ticket sales base? (Does that include student ticket sales?)
Re: RAG man Peterson: Slams ISU on Attendance
its true, we have fair weather football fans...they come up with every excuse in the book to not show up to games...

If he's talking about 30k+ being the base of season ticket holders, is he wrong?
Re: RAG man Peterson: Slams ISU on Attendance
According to that statement, he is not spewing false information. Our season ticket holder attendance is in the mid-30,000.

So the season average was 35K is that what you are saying . . or just slamming ISU fans for one or two games?
Re: RAG man Peterson: Slams ISU on Attendance
41K on Senior day with a shot at a bowl was BAD for the program and recruiting.
Re: RAG man Peterson: Slams ISU on Attendance
I guess he should apologize for the facts.
We're getting better, but we have a ways to go in building our base.
Re: RAG man Peterson: Slams ISU on Attendance
we would get more attendance if we didnt play so many night games:rolleyes:

That attendance figure is a false statement the way he worded it. You can go and find the average attendance figure for the season and its around 45k. The lowest was the Missouri game which was 41k. Now that is tickets sold and therefore the AD received the money for those tickets and therefore it does not matter how many butts were in the seats in a $ mind set, as long as the ticket is sold. Does it help having more fans attend game, absolutely, but if people buy tickets and do not attend the game, it does not mean we still cannot pay the coaches current salary.
