ISU's problem isn't the people in the stands, it's the people sitting at home on the couch.

Yea, another thread calling out "fans" that don't go to the games or sell their tickets! I really don't think we have had enough of these threads!! -

The 60 to 70 Nebby fans in my section (6) during the Nebraska game does tell me we have an issue.

Re: Honestly, I wish we had more educated fans
My biggest annoyance with our fanbase are the people (specifically students) that will go tailgate all day and don't go in to the game. Not only that, they make it known to everyone that they don't go to the games, just party, and make it seem that doing that is far cooler and more mature than actually going in and watching the team.

Re: Honestly, I wish we had more educated fans
And the sellouts. Really? You bigtime donors with season tix on the 50 really need the extra money you get from selling your tix online to NU fans? Find someone in your hometown and sell them to them, give them a deal, or just straight give them the tickets. It's a shame to see the best seats in the house go towards the other team.
This applies to KU basketball too.

I really don't care how "educated" the fans are as long as they show enthusiasm.

Re: Honestly, I wish we had more educated fans
I was standing next to people at the game right after Texas and after the first pass of the game they were yelling for Tiller. I yelled at them to shut up and he just beat Texas and that less than 5 QB's can say they won a bowl game for ISU. They said Arnaud didn't have anything to do with beating Texas. Idiots.

Re: Honestly, I wish we had more educated fans
Had a drunk SOB behind me at Farmageddon II, telling everyone how badly A-Rob sucked. Dude was blotto, and I knew correcting him would be a bad idea. But midway through the 3rd quarter, I let him know that A-Rob had been out since the first series. After that, I was pretty sure he was going to puke on me at some point.
When I have to sit by the clueless ones, I'll wait for them to say something monumentally stupid, then I'll yell "Get in the hole!" immediately afterwards. Most folks don't get it, but, hey, I enjoy it.
"Me not winning isn't important. You do!" -

I had to eat a $90 ticket because no CYCLONE fan wanted to BUY it when I posted it on CycloneFanatic -- in fact I was made fun of.
AND...
I could have sold my ticket to a Nebraska fan and made a profit.
So, yeah I think people sitting at home instead of going to the game are a problem.

There is always an excuse too. I've heard them all...
-My client is a Husker/Hawk fan and they asked for the tickets
-My in-laws are Husker/Hawk fans and they wanted to come to the game
-My neighbors are Husker/Hawk fans and they asked for the tickets long ago

How many times this year did you hear someone by you scream how bad our players and coaches are after one bad play. I just felt like people who don't know much about football resort to yelling and cursing other than analyzing what's actually going on. Bad news, I'm afraid. Dukes of Hazzard was no 1 for years, and those people are mostly still alive - and many are football fans.
