Of course it's early and not confirmed, but that might help us on our trip to Connecticut next year. I think it would be hard to leave your team when you've just qualified for a BCS game so it's probably just smoke. We'll see.
watching the games yesterday got me wondering, How is TCU going to fare in a conferense championship game played in Pittsburgh? I know the Big East isn't at 12 yet but it's coming.
I think I would wait for a better gig than that. Sure they have a nice stadium but the team stinks.
Agreed, I personally think right now Uconn is a better gig than the goof ups with a better upside and potential.
Minnesota is always going to be an afterthought in the big ten football wise. Uconn has a chance to become a power in the Big East (if there is such a thing). Plus the goof ups play about 5th fiddle at best after the Vikings, Twins, T-Wolves, and Gophers Hockey in the Twin Cities.
Gotta wonder whether Edsell could get a better job. Minny has a nice stadium and Big 11 checks, but no one cares up there. It wouldn't surprise me if the Michigan job opens up. Or the Georgia job. If Edsell waits a year, he could be in the running for PSU. Of course, UCONN could be a Big 11 school by then too. Interesting situation...it would definitely help us next year if he leaves because they only have 5 Seniors leaving this year. Lots of Sophomores in that starting lineup.
No way in hell that Peterson leaves Boise for Minnesota. They're crazy if they think that. The only job he would leave for would be a big-time power like tOSU, Texas, USC...maybe Michigan or PSU.
Today's Pioneer Press mentioned that Chris Petersen's name re-surfaced (which I think is insane) and Mike Haywood (Miami-Ohio) is in the running, too.
Petersen needs to look at what happened to Hawkins in Colorado. If he keeps the train rolling in Boise much better opportunities will come.
Edsell caught lightning in a bottle this year with the Big East being terrible and an 8-4 season getting UCONN to a BCS bowl. I can see him jumping ship if he wants into a conference like the Big Ten.
