Re: Wannstedt out at Pitt
i highly doubt CPR would leave, but if for some reason he did, our program will be set a long ways back. it is really hard to fire up a fan base/recruits if there is a revolving door at the head coach's office. fan enthusiasm and donations would take a major hit - regardless of who was hired as a replacement.

Re: Wannstedt out at Pitt
I doubt Rhoads goes anywhere, but its ridiculous to imagine Pitt won't want to give him a look, and they would be dumb not to.
Also, ISU fans should know better than to assume anyone would ever not leave. McCarney interviewed for numerous jobs while at ISU, for example, and we all know what happened with Cael, Chiz, McDermott, etc.
It's not like Rhoads is an alum.
Maybe Rhoads can use this opening as leverage to force the issue on our facilities improvements.

Pitt should go after Kirk Ferentz.

I kind think any bridge between CPR and Pitt is burned now that they have fired Wanny. CPR practically idolizes the guy, and now his mentor is out of a job after going 7-5, 5-2 in the Big East, co-champs to boot.
Seriously doubt that Rhoads has any fondness for Pitt today...

Re: Wannstedt out at Pitt
CPR isn't going anywhere but another Iowa native, Dana Holgorsen, might be a candidate for this job. He's got OK St's offense rolling this year, and he's basically Mike Leach lite.

Come to think of it, since both of their major sporting venues seem like they're just dug out of the ground, maybe we could call Iowa City the Pit.

Sure, KF get's to go home to Pennsylvania but doesn't have to compete against Iowa.
C'mon Pitt, make him an offer he can't refuse.
