now if they are projecting him at LB or at the other end, obviously not a concern.

Curt is most likely thinner than the coaches would like, so it would probably take a year with Yancy before he gets major minutes. Rony, Rosey, Jake, and Curt would be a nice 2 deep for the ends, though.

If you feel a 3 man front will work better he could play OLB in a 3-4. He could also play DE in a 4-3 or nickel which is probably where I would guess he ends up now. I hope I get the opportunity to be wrong on this though.
To answer the question posed earlier, I don't know that we have ever had a defensive player this highly ranked. We all talk a lot about how hard the D line is to recruit for and this could be an opportunity for us to bring in the rare highly rated guy. I didn't think we had a chance a week ago and I still think the chance is very small but he would be better than any commit left IMO and I don't think it's close.
All in all, this year, I have seen us in the picture with more highly rated kids than I remember. You look at the names mentioned by Maggitt, Nealy, even Daniel and we aren't associated with those teams much but this year we are being mentioned. I know it means very little if we don't get those guys, but it's a sign that we are making progress.

Re: Curt Maggitt tidbit
The latest update on Curt Maggitt's decision. The latest on Dwyer’s top three recruits | High School Buzz – Brissett and Maggitt still wide-open. Daniels: “Jacoby and Curt I know are going to wait. They’ll wait to take their visits, and if they have to wait until signing day or later, they will.” Maggitt is scheduled to take an official visit to Tennessee, and Brissett has spoken about a visit to South Carolina, where close friend and Dwyer alum Ramon Galloway is playing basketball. Brissett still wants to give college hoops a try. “They all have two visits left,” Daniels said. “It’s going to be interesting.” – Florida’s visit with Maggitt didn’t clear up anything. Muschamp’s Wednesday evening visit with Maggitt went well, but Daniels said Maggitt is trying to figure it all out. “He’s got a lot of people pulling him in different directions,” Daniels said. “He always has a smile on his face, but he has Miami in there, and Florida, and Tennessee and LSU and Alabama and all these crazy schools … He just needs to tie down some visits and finish up school, and sit down with his family and his brother and whoever else he needs to to talk about what his options are.” – Maggitt to Gainesville maybe, but not yet. Muschamp asked Maggitt to come and visit, but Maggitt said he’s not ready. “One thing about Curtis is that he’s been raised as a great kid, and he’s going to tell everybody the truth,” Daniels said. “He has a sincere interest in Florida, and has really liked them, but he’s not ready to say he’s going to take a visit. He’s going to visit Tennessee, and [then] he has one [visit] left, and he has some good options to choose from. In the bottom of my heart, I want him to take a visit there [Florida], but I’m in Curtis’ corner all the way. What are the chances that he is saving that last visit for ISU?

Re: Curt Maggitt tidbit
I'll run down Lincoln Way completely naked if Curt Maggitt commits to ISU. It is NOT going to happen. Don't get your hopes up.

I would just love to see him come to ISU and join his brother in taking ISU to a level it hasn't seen before.

He has stated he isn't going to use an official to come to ISU because he has been to ISU, knows everything he needs to know about ISU, and its coaches. There is a reason he has ISU in his top five. ISU isn't just there for ***** and giggles. That menas we have a 20% chance. I honestly think Wisconsin has as good if not better chance than others. Call me crzy

That is what a good brother would do - not demand that he goes to the same school for a reason of "just because I'm here".

Re: Curt Maggitt tidbit
My brother was several years older than me and was the primary reason I ended up at ISU. He didn't do too much hard selling. I definitely knew that he was pretty excited about the possibility of us going to college for a couple years together, and it obviously impacted my decision.
Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is don't under estimate the pull of family in situations like this. I think we have a great shot at him.

Re: Curt Maggitt tidbit
it depends on what roosevelt maggitt thinks about paul rhoads and the D-line coach. Its common for a player to feel like he's being snubbed for playing time or whatever. Who knows though. He didn't sign to play for rhoads, but it sounds like Roosevelt is putting in a good word.
