No body has said anything of substance on the matter. They are just reiterating he would make sense as he worked there for years. I'm nervous by nature but until we hear real news on this matter I think we are fine. They seem to think that the Okie State OC will be the guy.
That is nothing to worry about, just a national recirculation of the terrible story in the Register stating that "Rhoads has a connection to Pitt"...(obviously...the sky is also blue).
It doesn't make me sick, but Rhoads would be foolish not to listen and I wouldn't blame him if he did. He did say its his dream job and I truly think he is in it for the long run. This is the media trying to build up a hire that most likely won't happen in the first place, 1st of all because he is from here originally, his family support, and the support of the fan base (he won't get first ANY TIME SOON) and 2nd well I personally heard he does throat rip outs like McGrubber! just sayin'
Agree with isugcs... all this talk just makes me plain sick. I've got faith that CPR wouldn't bolt at this point in time but all the talk makes me nervous, nonetheless. When it comes down to it, CPR will do what CPR wants to do and what's in his own best interest. Stating the obvious here, but him leaving now would be catastrophic to this program. Somebody pass me some godd@mn kool-aid... QUICK!!
For the first time ever I am actually hoping that someone has been listening to Giggles. He had a lengthy commentary this past week about Steve Peterson and why anyone would not want to work for him. I really hope that Rhoads either heard this, knows this, or knows someone who knows this.
I think we need to give CPR a raise, for these reasons:
-He's been here for 2 years, took us to a bowl game in year 1 and was 1 play away from taking us to another in year two. All this done without his own players.
-Give him more money to give his assistants a raise. We need to keep these coaches around to get some continuity in the program.
-We need to make his salary more competitive with other coaches in the Big 12, that are doing the same or even less than he is.
-To increase his contract buyout, if anybody comes sniffing around.
-To show him that we really want and need him at ISU.
