I really hope we fill the Sims departure well and we add some speed all around.
Oh..I was playing NCAA 11 and I beat Boise State with ISU's 2011 team, so we should be just fine -

remedial recruiting question: When is signing day?

My list (of guys I know about) would be:
1. Walton Taumoeapeau
2. Filimoeatu or Henderson
*which top two would fill immediate needs
3. Armonze Daniel
4. Keithen English
5. Nealy, Gaines or Dorleant (or any combination thereof)
...assuming that Dorleant is still visiting, of course, since I see that one of Maryland's other CB commits will be making a visit to Iowa City this weekend.
The latter trio would be a great start on Wally's defense for the future--along with some of the guys already committed. We got a new Marshall here in town, and his name's Paul Rhoads, and the times, they is a'changin'.

The latter trio would be a great start on Wally's defense for the future--along with some of the guys already committed. What about Hudson the Juco from CA and Blood the Juco from ND. I think Blood is under the Radar in North Dakota, and Hudson is the kind of guy that can come in right away.
I think there has to be 1 of the WRs that would turn out well on the D side. But suring up the interior of the front 4 has to do something to aid in the pass rush. You double up on Rump but you don't have to on the other guy, makes defending the ends easier and you already know where the gap Blitz from a Knott, Morton, or Klien is going to be coming from and have your RB ready to protect. It makes protecting the QB easy. You find the guy that can pull another blocker to go along with Rump, and you make it easier for Maggit, Neal, and Lattimer, plus the CB Blitz would be more effective when the line is focusing on the inside pinch and the DEs have more space. It also allows Knott and Klein to use their vision on the slide to cover the Blitz man's receiver and they get a few more picks. The last point is the interior talent pool just seems to be a little bigger on the JuCo level. There are some great DEs out of our reach but there are more really good Interior guys within our reach.
