where everyone else but us has been scheduling 3-4 easy wins every year, to maximize wins (and chances of bowls, and greater bowl prospects past eligibility).

We schedule: one of the top teams in I-AA that has extra reason to want to beat us, a top 25 Iowa team, and then sometimes another BCS or BCS-level team. Dumb scheduling... shouldve bought out of he Utah game for 2010, and shouldve bought out of the @UConn game.

I agree with you, with our new round robin schedule plus the choke eyes from IC we'll be lucky to see a bowl game once every five years.


Pollard had better wise up or both he and rhoads will be going bye bye in five years if there is no Bowl Games for the Clones....


My simple question to you guys....Is it acceptable to go to a bowl game once every 5 yrs??? Just a simple yes or no will suffice.

the answer to that question is real simple....NOBODY.....If you cant beat Baylor you cant beat anyone in the big 12!!!!

That just tells me maybe Rhoads should build a quality program that can get W's. We're never going to consistently beat Texas and OU, but we can surpass Baylor, Tech, Kansas, Kansas State, etc.

No, it isn't. In today's environment with a boatload of bowl games, everybody with a pulse goes to a bowl game. In a typical year you will see 8 or 9 Big 12 teams in a bowl game. We can't afford to be in the elite club with KU and Baylor every year staying home for the holidays. If you aren't in a bowl most years playing in a BCS conference, you are a crappy football program. If we want to start changing perceptions of ISU football, we need to be in the post season, even if it isn't in top notch bowl games.

We need to be in a bowl 3 or 4 times every 5 years. If we aren't doing that, we are falling farther and farther behind.

I was wrong on a couple things. I was thinking we were playing Utah again with no bye. Our chances next year might be a little better than this year. I was mostly irritated about the lesser teams that made it to bowls this year. I've never been to a bowl game. I was hoping for this year or next.
