Re: Teddy Lampkin..
It's nice to see one of our guys pulling away from the pack. What's his 40 time?

I've been saying all along that I'm excited about Jarvis West. I see him and all I can think of is JJ Moses.

Re: Teddy Lampkin..
Rivals lists his 40 at 4.6, which must be wrong as well.

Re: Teddy Lampkin..
speaking of Jarvis West, did he RS this year? I'm assuming he did.

Re: Teddy Lampkin..
West never played this year.
I really hope we see something with him. I was super excited for him. We need so much improvement from our offensive skill players for the next season.

Re: Teddy Lampkin..
I live in Omaha and have been watching Lampkin since he was in middle school. The kid is electric. ISU is getting a weapon with this kid.

Re: Teddy Lampkin..
A little perspective. If you want to call West and Lampkin "extremely explosive", consider that "explosive" for a football player is generally represented by a 10.4 or 10.5 track time in the 100m. Ellis Hobbs clocked a 10.63 best in HS.
West and Lampkin have "best" times of something like 10.8 and 10.9, respectively. Nice, but nothing overpoweringly fast. So I wouldn't start hyping them yet.

Maybe not breakaway speed, but if they can go from zero to full speed in just a couple of steps, then they will be valuable. This is why the 40 is typically more useful in football than the 100.
A couple of quick guys in the slot, like the guys T Tech used to have would be incredibly productive.

Re: Teddy Lampkin..
Suppose it depends on how a person defines "explosive". Teddy did run a 10.80 in the Nebraska State Track Finals. But he also had a 48'3" in the triple jump and a 24'5" in the long jump. You have to fairly "explosive" to rack up those distances in the jumping events. And for what it's worth, he was clocked at 4.37 in the 40 yard dash at the U.S. Army National Combine.
