Anthony and Chris Young
I saw that Jantz was just ranked in the Juco top 50 and remembered that those guys were both ranked in the top 50 last year.
I know Anthony Young got in a little because he had 17 tackles. Was he just special teams guy?
And did we redshirt Chris Young? I would assume so since he didn't record a statistic at all.

Re: Anthony and Chris Young
Anthony was the number 4 CB on the team for most of the year. Showed a lot of talent, but seemed over whelmed at times. I think he will have a very solid senior year. Chris redshirted.

Re: Anthony and Chris Young
chris is the one i was pumped for too. jeremy crabtree of rivals was raving about him last year on a radio bit i heard on sirius. hope he was right.

Re: Anthony and Chris Young
Good to hear. Hopefully our young WRs can step up and produce.

Re: Anthony and Chris Young
Anthony played quite a bit in certain games and very little in others. He did pretty well for a guy fresh from JUCO.
I'm excited for Chris Young. Glad he was able to redshirt if he needed it.

Re: Anthony and Chris Young
Was Chris Young injured last year? Is that why he redshirted?
Kinda depressing if he wasn't injured and wasn't 'ready' to play for our group last year.

Coaches may have wanted to have him for the upcoming years. It takes a while to get a grasp on this offense so a year redshirting to learn it was probably for the best

Exactly. Im hoping the same thing. But for how bad we were at that position last year, you really hope it wasn't for simple lack of talent.

Re: Anthony and Chris Young
I was very impressed with how physical Anthony Young was at CB. Hopefully he has a good senior year.

Chris didn't EE I don't believe, so it's likely he wouldn't have been very effective. I think Anthony's time will be determined by whether or not Benton stays at corner or moves to safety. If he stays at corner, I can't see Anthony jumping JR for snaps.

Or so I have read. -

Why can't people just spell out words?

Re: Anthony and Chris Young
and i just don't see benton going to safety either-unless matison and/or morgan can seemlessly take his hybrid role. i am pumped for our defense next year either way.
obviously lbs aren't a concern provided they stay healthy. our hybrid is stacked 3 deep with benton, matison, and morgan, cbs are solid w/lj, jr, and young, safety is a bit of an unknown but i like washingtons potential. if nelson can even be decent at de coupled w/maggit, lattimer, and yes, even neal, our d should be very salty. unbelievable turn around from a d 3 years ago that seemingly gave up 50 a game.
