Iowa State Football All-American Barry Hill Dead at 57
AMES, Iowa Funeral services are Friday in Boynton Beach, Fla. for former Iowa State All-American football player Barry Hill. Hill, 57, died Wednesday at Bethesda Memorial Hospital from complications from pneumonia. Hill, who lettered from 1972-74, is the Cyclone all-time career (21) and single-season (9) interception leader. Hill was inducted into the ISU Letterwinners Hall of Fame in 2006.
He was part of a recruiting class that included Keith Krepfle, Lawrence Hunt, Ike Harris and Jerry Moses, said former Iowa State head coach (1968-72) Johnny Majors. He was a terrific player to coach and was a very talented athlete.

Very sorry to hear this, especially at only 57 years old. Pneumonia is a scary thing and I've known multiple people taken too early because of it.

Why did the DM Reg just publish this today? This was announced before Thursday night's game against UVA.

That was a heck of a recruiting class.
Jerry Moses was the "Harrison Barnes" sort-of-speak of his day. Landing him opened the eyes of many around the country.
