Here is my favorite recent one. It reminds me of his interviews here in which he would say absolutely nothing. CPR says more in a burp than Chizik said in an interview.

Agreed. Could GC have turned it around with a couple better coordinators? Possibly, and i think we all hoped so.. But his 2 years pretty much sucked, and while it was way too early for him to be on the hot seat, at 5-19 (after the guy you fired had 4 wins in one of his worst outings)and got 0 conference wins, (a feat McCarney only managed to accomplish once, in the 2003 debacle) , and things start getting warm.

One thing is for sure. He certainly didn't google chizik toadie, chizik *** kisser, chizik sycophant, or chizik blumpkin, because they all direct back to his facebook account.

Whether you liked Chizik or not, the fact is he was 5-19 where Rhoads is 12-13. Whether he made accomplishments other places, the fact remains he made none at ISU. The year before he was hired Mac won almost as many games as Chizik did during his tenure. The year after he leaves Rhoads wins more. What is in question is not how good he is at Auburn, but how good was he at ISU?

Chizik hired bad coaches. Maybe if he had stayed at ISU and hired some new coordinators like he was going to, maybe he would have accomplished more, but he didn't.

For recruiting, the only major improvement that I credit Chizik with is in the O-line. For what ever reason he was able to drastically improve the O-line play, but even with that, Rhoads has been able to take it a step further.

Chizik was foolish when he came to ISU. He was over his head from the start. He probably did learn a lot from ISU that enabled him to do a better job at Auburn, but I have to wonder if he would have hired McFarland and Bolt as coordinator if he had been hired at Auburn first?
