    Countrywide Football ?

Every state gets 1 team. You are only allowed to recruit in your own state. So if you are top player in the country but you live wyoming you have to go to wyoming. Where would the state of Iowa end up ranked out of 50. Personally I think we would actually do pretty well. Yea Texas, Florida, and other south states would be at the top, but I think we have some pretty decent talent. Thoughts?

I don't think Texas, Florida and California would be much better than UofT, Florida/Miami/Fl. St.(depending on the year), USC are now. They already get the best players from their states for the most part. It would hurt states like Iowa more than it would help them IMO.

Not very well. Here is a link to the 2009 Rivals Top 100 and where they are from:

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/foo...009/rival.html

And here is a link with a list of Iowa recruits over 2004-2008.

State of Iowa Recruiting 2004-08 - Google Maps

I would assume that Iowa would be in the bottom 10.

Iowa would be around the middle of the pack. Of course, the big dogs would be TX, FL, CA. They would be followed by upper midwest and SE states like OH, MI, PA, GA, LA, NC, SC, MS. Iowa would probably be right up there overachieving at the MO, OR, WA, AR, AZ, MS, IL, IN, WI, MN, NJ, NY level. But, they'd be above the more barren and/or tiny states like NE, SD, ND, NM, ID, NV, UT, OK, ME, DE, RI, WV, KY, WY. If I were to guess, I'd put Iowa somewhere like 28th.

I would not put us ahead of Oklahoma. they produce a lot of 4 star talent. They are much like Texas North, and are a very football crazed state themselves, and this passes on to the kids.

Most of the states he lumped us in with do, I think we'd be in that group, just near the bottom.

We'd be an overachieving, hard working, scrappy team with a really high football IQ. A team that did the little things right, and grinded out some wins.

There would be a lot of good players from TX, FL, etc not playing football if this were the case.

Why do you assume our football IQ would be better than say Texas who lives and breathes football year-round? Texas is a bad example as you can say that we would be #2, but I don't really know why Iowa would be considered a hotbed for football knowledge.

I'm with you on hard-working, I would even add that we would probably be a bigger team similar to a Wisconsin, and grinding out wins would be our best gameplan.

So we'd be a bunch of slow, white guys?

    Somewhere between 30th-35th.
