We may be ranked dead lost in this, but how close is the competition in the bottom half of the conference. I think we can beat KU, KSU, and Tech. KSU will not have Thomas at RB anymore and therefore a lot of their offense goes out with him, unless they have some other stud. KU may still suck next year. Tech seems to be moving away from their potent offense of Leach and in to a more running offense. Our defense should improve with the Current Sophomores, freshmen and Red-shirt freshmen growing up and adding depth. Obviously the big question is how good will our QB be to carry the offense?

I'd pick us ahead of Kansas, but our vast concerns on offense will cause us to be picked last in probably pretty much every publication next year.

If we find a decent QB, I think we could be better next year than we were this year, but at this point there's no reason to expect that.

Wow, they sure put a lot of effort into Iowa State, Kansas and K-State. Why link to something so worthless?

I don't think Athlon has ever picked ISU any higher than dead last. Ever.

not a suprise at all. big hole at QB and lots of question marks at WR. Defense should be solid if we continue to improve. this is a team that has great potential.. we just need one of the QB's to step up

I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to wait until the recruiting classes are filled before making predictions for next year. Who knows who might come in and be a stud?

We had an experienced QB this year, and were picked dead last because of it. He leaves, and all of a sudden that is the reason to pick us last again? Athlon is terrible.

Huh? Unless you get a Top 10 FR or a great JUCO, you can pretty much look at returning players for the impact plays. How many stud freshman were difference makers on their teams this year in a positive way? I can think of one, Marcus Lattimore, a top 3 back for a team that had no running game prior. JUCOs? Cam Newton. And those come once in a decade, and if Steel Jantz is that I will wet myself. I mean it.

There's really no justification for putting Kansas ahead of us, and the only reason to put K-State ahead of us is that the game is in Manhattan. K-State loses almost everybody that anybody has ever heard of.

We need to go 2-1 non conf and 4-5 in the big 12.
