We need both of these big boys and I'm not sure if I like our chances if they wait until signing day. Can we afford to sit back and wait on these two? We need bodies now.

Sounds like Green is ours to lose based on the massive opportunity he has. I suspect he would start right away unles McDonaugh has a breakout offseason. I think we are also in good with Bundrage. Johnson, who is the most needed of the freshman propsects sounds like a crapshoot though, so that is disappointing. Who knows, though. The problem with Johnson is I think that Rhoads wants someone, and will not be willing to wait for him.

Basically, we had 4 recruits in this weekend and all four are looking to take more visits in the next two weeks and decide close to or on NSD. That's not a terrible thing, but it does put some pressure on our staff as far as whether it's worth it to wait or find someone else to fill the spot.

One question I have is if Hadley and Mutcherson are visiting. Hadley is supposedly a December grad, so he would be starting classes today. I wonder if they don't move on and take a commit from Pleasant and Babineaux instead of holding out hope for some of the others.

I was really hoping we could get a commit from Johnson this weekend, 2 official visits taken, us recently popping on his list, he will be tough to land now....

It's part of the recruiting game: the staffs also will definitely have a backup plan. Both parties know it: the players also know that they are not recruited by premier programs.

Hah! You say that as if there are tons of ther options, big, talented defensive linemen just sitting around waiting for someone to call.

We don't need to sign bodies just to sign bodies. That's part of what killed Danny Mac's tenure.

I don't think he implied that we have tons of other options.
