No Thursday Game?

I was reading the article about Jantz on Cyclones.com, and it said that the season opener is September 3 against UNI. Realizing that that sounds extremely late for a Thursday game, I checked the calendar, and it's a Saturday.

I always thought attendance was better than expected for a Thursday, and the reception was always great. Why the change?

They will most likely change it during the summer to a thursday game, that was the case last year, during the winter it was "on saturday" technically, then sometime between winter and june they change it to thursday on the schedule.

BOOOOO! I love thursday games, nothing beats going to class, probably skipping the afternoon one, stopping by es tas for a pre-tailgate beer, then off to the lots on a thursday.

I'm pretty sure the reason for keeping the game on Saturday is due to the fact that it's against UNI.

Attendance will already be better when the Hawkeyes dig deep in their closet for the purple.

College FB is meant to be played on Saturday. VERY happy about this change.

FYI...last time we opened on a Saturday against UNI, it was Seneca Wallace's first game as a Cyclone. I believe we won 45-10.

We did in 2004 as well, when ISU shutout UNI. Also in 2003.

Last time we opened against UNI, Meyer and Flynn were battling for the starting spot and we won 23-0.
