Here's the long, interesting story about Quinton Pompey's decision to sign with Iowa State. Enjoy. Iowa State Football: Persistent recruiting & connections led Pompey to Ames | Cyclone Fanatic -

Nice write up. Getting these guys in from FL is awesome and it shows that networking/connections are huge.

I think hiring the Burnhams may be CPR's best move so far in his head coaching career.

Hiring Shane seemed to me a little like CPR was almost forced to get Shane to get Wally. I couldn't have been more wrong. Shane has been one our best recruiters and he's got a good reputation as a coach.

Re: FOOTBALL RECRUITING: Persistent recruiting & connections led Pompey to Ames
This article says he weighs 300#. Earlier he was 275-280. He seems like he will get some playing time in the fall.
Maybe his brother should come to Iowa for 2 years in a JC, and 2 years at ISU, if he pans out??

Nice write-up, Chris.
I think it bodes well for future recruiting that Shane Burnham, not only a good Florida, but the Defensive Tackles Coach, reeled in a top high school prospect at his own position.
Now, land a couple more next class, Shane, and we'll really be on a roll!
We got a new Marshall here in town, and his name's Paul Rhoads, and the times, they is a'changin'.

I'm surprised we were able to land him without offering his brother. I wonder what schools did offer both...

So did Shane sound like qualifying was just a formality now or what? That is kinda how it reads to me.
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU
Or so I have read. -
Re: FOOTBALL RECRUITING: Persistent recruiting & connections led Pompey to Ames
Is there any chance his brother ends up at a JUCO in the area?
