    RB

Theres been a lot of talk about the QB position, but how about the RB position? Who do you think will be our starting RB?

You are missing Hollis, I think he will get some snaps this year over nealy and Standard. Probably even white.

    Re: RB

I voted Shontrell as the feature back, but Woody and "player X" will get their share of carries as well.

Probably whoever after woody has the skills to catch the ball will see the field.

    Re: RB

There is talk of Woody to h-back/tight end/FB to get him on the field more than as just a power running back. I would bet money Standard redshirts. I would assume Nealy has kind of a Percy Harvin role if he doesn't redshirt, which could very well happen. I would guess he doesn't RS though.

As far as the actual guys I bet Johnson, Hollis, and White split snaps something like 60/30/10

    Re: RB

I think we'll get Shontrell, Woody and one other back in a regular rotation, with some of the other kids getting spots on special teams or in the slot.

    Re: RB

I'd really like to see Woody and Johnson in a shotgun formation lined up on either side of QB. There is a ton of options from that formation with motioning those guys in and out or running a triple read option out that formation. Best yet if we were facing a really good pass rush we could leave our Woody and Johnson in the backfield to plug up double the penetration

So we have both a Woody and a Johnson penetrating the line? Interesting.

Yes, I have to think they would get preference over a White or a Standard.

I hear they're spending a lot of time this offseason working on hitting the holes hard.

    Re: RB

If Shontrelle Johnson doesn't emerge as the starting running back this year, I could see him transferring elsewhere, especially since he hasn't used his redshirt yet. From what interviews I've seen of him, he seems like the type of guy that needs to be the alpha dog.
