SI article on Football and Crime
Pretty interesting stuff. They've got a table showing the number of players with records at each of the top 25 schools.
College Football and Crime

Interesting who's #2.....
Football is a violent sport and you have competive young people who haven't fully matured yet. Not a total surprise to me.

I'm sure Iowa is planning a press conference right now to address this article. Ferentz will say he was unaware of things going on and the staff needs to do a better job. Barta will gush about how Ferentz is one of the most respected coaches in the nation. Eastern Iowa media (half of whom are Iowa fan boys) will eat it up

This is EXACTLY how it will go down in my part of the state...if it even gets discussed!

Yeah I was just joking about them having a press conference but if they did, it would follow Iowa's familiar pattern. If you've seen one Iowa press conference conducted by their train wreck of a media relations department, you've seen them all

We weren't good enough to make this list.
You realize that is ALL the teams that were ranked at the end of the year are on this list. I would rather be 2nd on this list than not on the list at all.

But if Nebraska was sitting at the #2 spot on that poll...Iowa fans would be all over them! Mocking them, laughing at them and claiming that Nebraska is so dirty etc...
Re: SI article on Football and Crime
That list is for the top rated teams in the nation. We need to be on that list next year.

Mods please merge all these threads.
Re: SI article on Football and Crime
It should be pointed out that Iowa would actually be out of the #2 spot for dismissing Robinson & DJK.

Players who would have been on last year's rosters but had been charged and expelled from their teams before Sept. 1 -- and there were dozens -- were not counted in our sample.
This is extremely frustrating to read. My brother-in-law had to jump through hoops to be admitted to ISU due to his juvenile record, but if he were a football prospect applying to a Top 25 football program it wouldn't matter. When will the focus turn to campus admissions offices for allowing these students on campus?
