Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

re: Auburn. One step closer to losing their
This all happened under Tuberville's watch as well. I find it interesting that he puts one of the worst TTU products on the field in recent memory, and is still pulling in the best recruits the school has seen. ESPN was attributing it to him being in the Texas high schools. More likely he found someone to open their checkbook. I say again that Lubbock is a hole, and no one who saw it would say "This place is for me."

It was under Tubbervilles watch. However, Do you think they just magically stopped doing this when Cheezdick was hired?

The NCAA will have the last word. HBO strikes again. AW, BURNed again.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
re: Auburn. One step closer to losing their
Since the last time any of those guys played was 2007 I don't see how that will strip Auburn of the national title form this year. Unless a subsequent investigation opened up and found it was still going on. I just don't see the NCAA doing anything. I mean look what they ruled about Cam Newton. His dad had to not be around (except for the national title game). The NCAA just doesn't care. If you didn't know the FBI has already been involved in investigating the corruption at Auburn, and still the NCAA has done nothing. So either Auburn has done nothing wrong, the NCAA doesn't care, or Auburn is excellent and covering their violations up. No matter which it is the result will be the same. No action taken.

I think it implies that the NCAA just can't turn a blind eye to what happened at Auburn this year anymore, that "no money changed hands" and "Cam had nothing to do and knew nothing about it" just because he said so.
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -

We don't have to play them and will only have the off-chance of coming against them in a bowl game. TTU on the other hand is now being helmed by the same coach who oversaw this pay to play deal and who is somehow bringing in elite level players to the wasteland of Western Texas, getting them to ignore programs like the University of Texas. We play them every year so I would hope this would raise some eyebrows on what he is doing there.

They won't open that the Newton thing back up though because they already closed the investigation. It's pretty obvious to everyone but the NCAA that Auburn has and continues to utilize pay for play. I just don't see how this report changes anything. They may have to vacate a couple SEC west titles and one SEC title and some bowls from that era. No one is going to care, and it won't change anything (I doubt that will even happen).
Short of a video of the coaching staff handing an auburn player a wad of cash next to nothing will come of this.
Hope I'm wrong. I hope the NCAA brings the hammer on blatant cheating, but I doubt it.

I was always under the impression Terry Bowden was pretty much run out of town at Auburn when he tried to reign in the boosters and their recruting practices.
I know boosters are not school employees but only leverage the NCAA has is to penalize the school. I say "get a rope and hang the ********".

re: Auburn. One step closer to losing their
So your saying that the 2007 team cheated and got paid and then they all just decided to band together and not pay players. Even though all of the reports about Cam Newton surfaced? Also if you don't know what losing a National Title is then I will Explain. It means they take it away from you and not allow you to have it. They don't Lose it like they don't know where it went. Losing it is a term that means to take away. So do they lose it as in they don't know where the trophy went? No. THey lose it in the fact that the NCAA takes it away. Hope this clears up any confusion.

re: Auburn. One step closer to losing their
If you want a good read on what has gone down at Auburn for quite some time now read this: As the Plains Burn-------(Updated 1-23-2011 pg. 925) @ TigerDroppings.com
It will give you a run down of all the players involved. What has happened. How it's going on. etc.
It reads like a novel and is actually a fairly good read if you have some time to kill.
None of it is verified, but most of it has plenty of smoke to back up the fire.

Making a joke about 'there' implying location.
